Yeah! Here's the new chapter!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After breaking my hug with Penny, she started looking at my classmates, smiling slightly at them with a feeling of amusement, finding their astonished looks funny.
And Luna, who was the only one who wasn't completely surprised, but very curious, decided to ask the question that was on everyone's mind.
"Mrs. Flamel, do you know Ethan?" she asked tilting her head to the side, looking between me and the immortal lady.
And Luna's question made everyone pay attention to Penny, waiting to hear her answer.
"Of course I know him" Penny snorted waving her hand, "What kind of grandmother would I be if I didn't know my own grandson?"
And with that sentence everyone again felt as if their minds were exploding.
"""Grandson?!!""" some of the group members exclaimed in shock.
'He... he's Perenelle Flamel's grandson!?' Greengrass wondered, feeling her cold queen mask crack as confusion and shock seeped into her mind, 'How could Night be her grandson? This makes no sense!'
And the main reason Greengrass was having such a hard time accepting that I could be Penny's grandson was because it would mean that I, someone she despised and at times even hated, was superior to her in influence and importance.
And as a pureblood with some blood supremacist thoughts, it was difficult for her to accept that someone she judged as inferior was actually the superior wizard.
But while everyone's minds worked to try to understand the situation and the new information, Luna looked at Penny with confusion.
"Hmm, you're not really Ethan's grandmother, are you?" she asked, and Penny looked at her.
"What makes you say that?" Penny asked, smiling at Luna, feeling that this curious girl was fun.
"Well, I say that because Ethan is a muggleborn, and he himself has confirmed that, and I'm sure he wouldn't lie about that matter" Luna started to respond looking at me, and I nodded at her, "And since he's a muggleborn, and you're a pureblood, you two shouldn't have any connection."
Luna's answer and explanation were simple, but it was enough to make my colleagues realize that she was right, and that I couldn't be Penny's real grandson.
"Oh, you're very smart," Penny said, nodding somewhat impressed, "And you're right, I'm not Ethan's biological grandmother, but that doesn't matter to me because I still consider him my real grandson"
And listening to Penny I looked at her, seeing her smile slightly as she looked sideways at me.
And smiling back I nodded at her.
"Huh, but how did you… err… become grandmother and grandson?" Hermione, who was silently processing the information, asked.
"Well, actually that happened shortly after we met," I replied, putting a finger on my chin, "And that was around the end of our second year."
"Wait, you didn't know each other before this?" Terry asked, and I nodded.
"So does that mean you've only known each other for 2 years?!" Sue asked in surprise.
'How did Night make someone like Perenelle Flamel consider and call him her grandson in just 2 years?!' Davis wondered in shock, before looking at her friend only to see her staring straight ahead with a lost look.
'In 2 years... in 2 years he managed to become the grandson of one of the most influential people in the world... in 2 damn years...' Greengrass thought, looking straight ahead while cursing my luck.
'Wait, they met in second year? Doesn't that mean they met right after all that mess involving the Philosopher's Stone?' Hermione reflected.
She then remembered when Harry told Ron and her about the conversation he had with the Headmaster, where he discovered that in fact the stone had already been removed from the Mirror of Erised before his confrontation with You-Know-Who by an unknown person, and that the Headmaster seemed to believe that this person was not evil or had bad intentions.
And with that in mind, Hermione started looking at me with a suspicious look, creating dozens of theories and assumptions in her head.
And I, who didn't know what was going on in my classmates' minds, continued talking to Penny, Luna, and my other friends.

-In the Afternoon-
After the study group finished their session for the day, my friends and I decided to take a walk around Hogwarts, touring the castle grounds while passing by Durmstrang's ship and Beauxbatons' grand carriage.
We were at this exact moment sitting under a tree enjoying the sunset while looking from afar at Hagrid, who was taking care of the Abraxans, the immense winged creatures that had brought the students and teachers from the French school.
"Man, I'm so excited for tonight!" Anthony said with an excited look.
"Me too" Terry said, just as excited and expectant as our half-badger friend, who was known for being the liveliest person in the group.
"Really? Why?" I asked, looking at Terry with a raised eyebrow.
"Because I'm participating in the bet that the twins created about who the three champions will be, and if I get at least one right I'll win a lot of money" he replied with greed in his eyes, making me wonder if he wasn't a half-goblin.
"Hmm, I didn't know about that bet" I said scratching my chin.
"Oh, they started it this morning before you got to the Great Hall." Terry shrugged.
"Uhum, and I'm participating too," Stephen said, and I looked at him with a raised eyebrow, before turning to my friends to see Sue, Michael, and Lisa nodding their heads.
"Are you all participating in that bet?" I asked with a strange face.
"Yes, I thought it would be fun to try and guess who would be chosen as champions." Lisa said with a shrug and a slight smile.
"Not to mention the fact that there's still a chance for us to make some money from this" Sue continued, putting an arm on her friend's shoulder while smiling at us.
"Well, I wasn't expecting almost all of you to decide to participate in one of the twins' bets," I said, and then looked at Padma, Anthony, and Luna, who were the only ones who didn't say anything about the bet, "At least three of you have not yet been corrupted."
"If I hadn't spent my entire allowance last week ordering sweets from Hogsmead I would have joined them too" Anthony said, and I looked at him with a blank face.
"I don't like betting, and I even tried to convince them both not to participate" Padma said, pointing to Sue and Lisa, who smiled innocently.
And listening to Padma I nodded satisfied.
I then, trying to find out if there was more hope for this strange group of friends of mine, looked at Luna, who, upon feeling my gaze, turned to me, tilting her head to the side.
"Hmm, I also just found out about this bet." she said, before looking back at the Abraxans.
...
...
...
...
'She didn't even say whether she would have participated in it or not' I thought, sweating.
"Sigh… okay" I said, shaking my head slightly. I then stopped, looking at them before curiosity dawned on me, "But now I'm curious... Who did you bet on as Hogwarts champion?" I asked.
"Oh, that's... err..." Terry started to say, looking around for help as he sweated under my gaze.
"Of course we bet on you, hehe" Sue said, laughing nervously.
"Yes! That's right!" Terry said, "How could we not bet on our dear, amazing friend, Ethan Night?"
And hearing him I looked at the others, only to find them nodding quickly with suspicious smiles.
'Man, how can they all be such terrible liars?' I asked myself in surprise.
'And wait a minute... If they're lying about betting on me, then who did they bet on?'
And with that question in my mind I started looking at my friends with a frown, staring at them and making them sweat under my gaze.
End.
