August 5 Year 1,000 of the Mystic Calendar
It didn't take that long before the four receive the message about their punishment. As expected, they would be sent into a mission that has a high level of danger
People at their level have the chance to survive the mission but the mission was harder than the ones they should normally get. Not to mention, for the whole month of august, they shouldn't have received a mission from the government as the test was considered as a part of their monthly mission
"I'm really sorry, I drag you all in this mess" Nath said in shame. Even after just a day, Nath's injuries were already healed thanks to the pill that Vice Chief Barry gave
If not for that pill, it might take more than a week for Nath to recover fully
"I just hope you won't be this reckless in the future" Keon replied. He was still new to society but he already saw how ugly it is. If Nath continues what he is normally doing, the time when he will die might not be far from now
"How can I just let innocent people die?! That Chief is the one on the wrong. He is a cold-blooded man!" Nath cried out causing Keon to shake his head
"I know you won't listen to anything that I will say. Just focus on making yourself stronger if you really want to help people. If you do what you did yesterday again, you might not be left with just this punishment"
In the end, Nath decided to not just speak again. It doesn't mean he agrees with Keon's words but it was his fault why they need to take this punishment. He decided not to start an argument
"Anyways, the mission is in three days already. We should use the money we earn from the crystal slime cores to increase our power. I already have some idea on what I should buy, you should search online for things that will help you"
Nath nodded his head at that and accessed his watch to search for any items that he can buy with the money he currently owns
"I'll take Gabe with me and buy my things first. If you have decided what to buy, you can take Mady with you, she is still undecided"
With that, Keon and Gabe went out of their room. Naturally, there is another reason why Keon drag Gabe with him and that is to talk about what they should do in the mission
Keon still hasn't forgotten that the forces behind Gabe want to help make him stronger. The mission is a perfect way for him to get more resources
Instead of going directly to the Hunter Department and buying items, the two instead went to a cafe with not that many people inside
The two order some refreshments before sitting down in the chair
"So.... how does your organization planned on helping me? Will they send another powerful mystic to our mission?" Keon asked calmly while his discerning eyes focuses on Gabe to see every reaction of his. There are still a lot of things unknown to Keom and he hopes that he will be able to pry for more information
"We can't send a strong mystic again just like the last time to prevent us from being discovered. But there is an uncountable number of Level 3 Mystics, we can use them to deliver resources to us. Does Master have a specific item you want to have? We will try our best to give it to you"
A list of various treasures flashed in Keon's mind before he threw the list at the back of his head. If he suddenly gained a too precious treasure then it would gather attention to himself that he should prevent as long as he is still not completely aware of the situation
Instead of a powerful treasure, Keon decided to choose an item with a great practical value
"I want a spatial ring. It will help us in the long run. You can send me resources and I can store them in my spatial ring. It's not like the government will just suddenly ask to inspect my ring without any proper reason"
For Keon, that wasn't such a big deal. The spatial rings are expensive but depending on the capacity, the price wouldn't always be heavenly expensive
However, turns out that it has more complications than Keon expected
"Master, it won't be a problem for us to give you a spatial ring but spatial rings are crafted by races with intelligence. It's not a naturally occurring item like the crystal slimes of before. Although we are punished, the realm we will be sent into is only a Level 3 Realm"
"There is no intelligent race living in there. And even among the Level 3 Mystics, only a few of them have a spatial ring. Thus, even if we say that we got the ring from dead mystics, it would be a bit hard to believe. Level 3 Mystics that have spatial rings are either powerful or have huge backing. The chances of them dying in a Level 3 Realm is low and being lucky to get spatial rings might make the other Hunters jealous. In the future, they might follow and try to attack us for our spatial ring"
Gabe's explanation really makes a lot of sense and Keon hasn't thought that far. Seems like Gabe and the people behind him are either too cautious or they can't be seen in the light
With this, Keon learned another thing from this mysterious organization. Still, Keon wants a spatial ring as it is a convention item to have. If he can't directly be given a spatial ring then he needs to find another way
Keon accessed his watch and read the information regarding the realm they will be sent into. Since there are too many realms in the galaxy, the government just gave most of the realms some numbers as their name
This particular realm is Realm #49857. Seems like the Chief was really displeased by Nath. Most of this realm's inhabitants are light attributed creatures
If a mystic with light ability fought those monsters, they would find that the fight is harder than normal. Some of those monsters have resistance to light-based abilities and Nath would be suppressed
Well, this was already a good outcome and possibly already giving Keon's group a lighter punishment just like what the Chief promise
If the realm they will be sent into is full of water or fire-resistant monsters, things would be harder. Mady and Gabe on the surface still spent a longer time in the ranks of Level 3 Mystics. Base on that alone, they would be seen as the strongest among the four
If it was the two that were suppressed by the monsters then this mission's difficulty would rise by another level
Keon searched for more information about this specific realm online and he read a piece of interesting information
This specific realm contained a special lifeform called Light Wisps. These wisps are completely made from light energies and they have high immunity towards physical attacks
These wisps have great control over light and are not that bad in terms of raw power. However, these light wisps are dangerous as they are always in a large swarm
Of course, the swarms are rare but they contained a lot of light wisps. All elemental lifeforms have a huge amount of energy in them and they are great resources
Keon's group can't possibly fight the light wisps as only death awaits them but there are already quite a lot of instances that Hunters attracted the attention of the swarm. In fear and wanting to survive, the Hunters run back to the fortress where the teleportation point is protected
Every time that this kind of thing will happen, the government will always hand out energy cores to the Hunters present. After killing the light wasps, their energy body would dissipate and the Hunters can use the energy cores to absorb those light energies
Light-based weapons and machinery always need energy cores that are filled with light element power. The Hunters that will participate in defeating the swarm can get 40% of the market price for every energy cores that they have filled
Since energy cores filled with elemental energy need specific creatures to fill, the price is a bit higher than normal energy cores. Even if it would just be 40% percent, as long as the quantity is enough, Keon can still save up to buy a spatial ring
Since he can't gain a spatial ring directly then he needs to use an indirect way!
Keon threw the projected screen in his watch to Gabe and had him read the thing about the light wasps
"Does your organization can stage a light wasp attack on the fortress? If they can then we can help fill energy cores and use the money we will gain to buy a spatial ring. Of course, I doubt that a single swarm is enough since there would also be other hunters present. We need more than one swarm and even if we still don't get enough money, at least it will cover a huge chunk of the spatial ring's price. In the future trip to the wild realms, we can just slowly accumulate common to uncommon resources to sell"
