My bones began to produce a cracking sound and it made me wince in pain. It felt like my bones are being broken into pieces and it is truly painful that I am about to faint already. But my consciousness seems to be out of my control as I am made aware of everything. My body is out of my control, and I am just someone who is suffering through this extreme torture.

I did not know how long I was in this place and how long did I go through, I lost track of time as all I could do is grit my teeth through the painful process.

However, I soon feel a soothing feeling which slowly made me feel like sleeping. The strength in my body came back, and as if nothing has happened, I could feel that my body is back to normal.

The lake is still peaceful and the energy is still in its surrounding. It's like inexhaustible energy.

Then my vision came back to normal. However, I could tell that something is different.

Of the upper right corner of my eyes, the color of the text displayed in that portion is now glowing silver. It even illuminates my view of the surroundings as if I have a flashlight on me.

But what struck me dumb is the status that I have.

Then I saw some information blinking below.

'The body of the host has been upgraded due to the amount of radiation absorbed. Qi is now reset and has caused the host's body to be improved according to the amount of Qi absorbed by the Seed.'

I was a bit dumbfounded upon seeing that the Qi has been reset to zero. Then I tried to search for that bead inside my body. However, I was a bit dumbfounded upon seeing that I could not find it anymore.

"Where is the bead?" I thought.

But I was startled when I saw some writing below as if it is answering my question.

'The Seed is already embedded in the host's brain. Due to some unknown reason, the Seed has combined with the host. The host and the Seed are now one…'

"What? What is the Seed?"

'Unable to answer the host…'

"Where did it come from?"

'Unable to answer the host…'

I was a bit disappointed that this thing could not tell me its origin. However, now that it could answer some of my questions, then I would just ask it then.

"What happened to my body, and how is my body changing?" I asked with a hint of concern.

I don't want to look like some freakish monster or turn into a giant. I want my normal body and my normal self. I just wanted this strength that I have to avenge my parents and Lin Qiao. After that, I knew that I have to return to society. I knew that this is what my parents want for me.

"Hmm… Ever since my intelligence increased, I seem to be able to think a little logically…" I thought.

'The increase in intelligence of the host does not affect the host's wisdom. The host might have acquired much knowledge, but the host's wisdom will not improve and would only grow through the host's experiences.'

"I knew that…" I muttered feeling a bit sheepish.

I carefully checked my body and discovered that my skin seems to have become smoother and fair. It's like the skin of a newborn child, the elasticity is perfect.

But then, I could feel my bones seemed to have been hardened.

'Host's bone density has been hardened by 100 percent… Host's muscles and tissue have been strengthened by 100 percent to balance the strength of the host's bones.'

And I was stunned upon seeing this. I did not know why, but it seems that my body has really been changed, or should I say upgraded…

Anyway, it already happened and I have already felt the changes. So what I need to do now is to absorb enough Qi before leaving this place.

While sitting down, I quietly absorb the energy in the air and slowly saw my Qi stats slowly rising up.

Then I saw it…

As I absorb Qi there are additional stats on my base stats. And from that number, I could tell that in every 5 Qi I absorb, I could gain 1 to both strength and dexterity.

I was a bit elated at this moment. With this, I knew that I would grow stronger the more I absorb Qi in my body.

However, my excitement suddenly died down as I could tell that absorbing the Qi in the air is not that easy anymore. It seems that my body or should I say my brain is taking in more Qi before my Qi stats would increase.

As I focused my sight on Qi, I discover what the problem is…

Just like my constitution before, I could not see the percentage number which indicates the level of absorption I needed to do before a Qi could increase. It is a bit weird and I would say frustrating because I wanted to become stronger faster, but what could I do?

I have already gained too much from this experience alone, I should be thankful enough.

While still musing and slowly absorbing Qi, I was suddenly interrupted by a loud commotion outside the cave. From the shaking of the ground, I could tell that something big is coming this way.

I immediately stop practicing and quickly gathered my things. I then tried to sense the sound of the incoming creature.

I could somewhat smell the thick scent of blood and the creature's heavy breathing.

"It seems that it is wounded."

I then ran towards the entrance of the lake, but then I stopped. This is because I knew that the creature has already reached the mouth of the large hole.

There I saw a giant warthog the size of a tank. I quickly dashed to the side to hide from it.

I can see it sniffing the air as if trying to detect any creature from inside. But how could it find my scent when I have been inside this place for some time?

And so, I watch it carefully as it slowly limps towards the lake. As it got nearer the lake, I could see the madness in its eyes as it walks closer and closer. Then, when a part of it touches the lake something happened.

Strange tentacles came out and suddenly wrapped around the body of the giant warthog.

It tried to free itself as the warthog struggles. But more slime-like tentacles wrapped themselves around the warthog making it squeal in fear.

Then I saw it with my own eyes, the wounds around the warthog's body were slowly healed. The healing rate is visible to the naked eye.

It was a very miraculous thing and I was fascinated.

"These tentacles could actually heal the warthog…" I thought.

But I could also tell that something is happening to the warthog's consciousness as its eyes slowly turned red.

It seems that it would soon turn berserk.

And true to my conjecture, the giant warthog suddenly became stronger and was able to free itself from the slime-like tentacles. Then it began biting the tentacles and munching them.

A slight squeal could be heard from within the lake and this made me think that there is actually a creature inside of it.

But of course, I dare not enter the lake for fear of killing myself. However, I already have a volunteer right in front of me.

While the giant warthog is busy munching on the tentacles that it has bitten, I could see blood on its mouth.

Then suddenly I remember the giant lizard which came out of this cave. I also noticed the flesh in its mouth when leaving the cave.

But I did not have to think about that for now. The reason for this is because; the warthog seem to have discovered my presence just now.

I did not hesitate to jump out of my hiding place and then face the huge warthog.

"You look strong…" I muttered.

It seems to have been angered by my words as it suddenly charges towards my position. Its speed is passable and I know that once I'm hit by it, then I would be sent flying.

So I dodge to the side.

Then I ran to the side of the lake. This time my back is facing the glowing lake.

The Warthog angrily snorted and then with a reddened eye, it dashed towards me. I smirked as I know that my plan worked. I did not have to fight this thing; all I have to do is to annoy it as it is already in a berserk condition.

Without a thrill, the Warthog fell to the lake head first.

Splash…

Before it could even cry I saw large tentacles wrapping themselves around the warthog. Then it was slowly dragged inside the lake and the Warthog disappear.

I clearly saw it with my own eyes. The lake is actually not a lake, but the whole body of a slime-like monster.
