Triple Threat

I sat in the locker room of the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, awaiting the booker for the Rising Star tournament so we could discuss what role I would play. Due to me not showing up for the first show, I wouldn’t p be entered in the main bracket, but Alex Haywood assured me he would find me something to do for the few months the tournament would be taking place. I was scrolling through my phone, waiting for the booker, when I got a YouTube notification on my phone.

“ Gunner wins SCW World Heavyweight Championship!” My eyes widened, and I nearly dropped my phone. There was just no way! I clicked on the notification and watched a three-minute video of Gunner wrestling Calvin Thorn, the man who had recently won the SCW World Heavyweight Championship in a ladder match. I felt tears well up in my eyes when I watched one of my closest friends climb the ladder and pull down the championship belt. As soon as the video ended, I FaceTimed Gunner.
