“The doctor will be right with you,” said the nurse.
“Thank you,” I said and stared at the rolling stool.
“You can sit there if you like,” the nurse said.
“Oh, no. It’s fine,” I laughed. “I know that’s where the doctor sits.” I cleared my throat and climbed onto the raised chair, crinkling the patterned paper beneath. I tried to shift my weight and tore a hole in the tissue.
“See,” I giggled. “This is just fine.” I took a drink from my water bottle and am proud to report that it was not too sour.
“I love your bottle,” she said and smiled.
“You do?” I gushed and gave my eco-friendly water bottle a soft pat.
“Yes, I have the heather gray sleeve. I’ve been thinking about ordering the bundle pack and getting the coral, teal, and lemon patterned one.”
“They have a lemon patterned one? Brilliant!”
“Of course, I’m not a fan of lemon,” she said. “Too sour.”
“I agree. But the color is so pretty. Have you thought about cucumber?”
