MELISSA POV
9:02 PM
The night was still a bit young for Melissa. Melissa had her things in her hand to pack for the trip back to her hometown. One hand had a bunch of clothes and the other hand had a phone in her hand that held up to her ear, with the other line speaking.
"Yes, Grandma, I will visit you immediately once I get my things settled in the new house. " Melissa said as she packed more clothes.
"Okay. I love you, Melissa." The other line cut off short.
Today was the day for Melissa. The moving company is going to be here tomorrow, so Melissa wanted to pack as quickly as possible to relax in the home she stayed in. Her grandma sure loved to talk on the phone. Part of the reason why Melissa moved was because of her grandma. Her grandmother is really old, and she doesn't want to risk not being near her because she is a bit more fragile now. She just wants to take care of her.
Her parents had passed away when she was younger, so she had to stay with her grandma. Grandma was now the guardian over her, but once she turned 18, she moved away for college. It's been five years now, and now Melissa thought it was time to come back to her town.
"I guess that's the last of it!" Melissa cheered finally. She spent about five hours trying to back everything for the moving truck. Now, she can relax and enjoy her last day here.
"I guess I'll order takeout or something, I don't feel like cooking." She picked up her phone again and dialed the Chinese place.
After she finished with her order, she slumped on the couch and turned on the television. Her favorite station to watch was the soap opera channel. She just lived for the drama.
After twenty-five minutes of watching television, there was a knock on the door. It must be the Chinese food place, Melissa thought to herself as she got up from the couch. She'd made sure to get her money from her wallet before the guy came so he didn't have to wait by the door and wait there.
The door swung open and there the man stood with the Chinese food in his hand, Melissa gave him the money and took the food. "Have a good night!" she told him.
A couple of minutes later, Melissa was done with her meal. Although, all that food she ate made her sleepy. She wanted to stay up longer, but she was getting drowsy, so she went to sleep on the couch.
----
10:32 AM
It was the morning after a long night of packing and sleeping. Melissa woke up from a long slumber. Unfortunately, she slept on her neck, so she had this pain in the back of her neck.
The woman who slept on the couch got up from her and walked to the curtains as the light peeked through them. She opened them and instantly she felt that she was blinded. Was she a vampire or something? The reflection of the sunlight was so strong it hurt her poor eyes.
Melissa quickly cleaned the table of the Chinese food boxes that she had eaten out of last night and threw them out. There was a huge knock on the door and realization hit Melissa. She'd forgotten she was moving today. This was the last time she would live here.
Melissa opened the door and the moving truck people stood firmly placed in the doorway. There were five moving truck guys and they began to grab the furniture.
After they were done with the packing and moving everything to the moving truck. One of the five guys spoke, "Follow our truck."
Melissa nodded, grabbed her keys, and purse. Before she left the house, she turned around and inspected the interior of it again, then she took a deep breath and got in her car, and followed the moving truck.
"Hometown, here I come.."
