Compared to a beast, a semi orc warrior had more human characteristics after their fourth evolution. After the fifth evolution, their features did not change much asides from a larger body. Even though they appeared human, their height was three and a half meters!1 The beasts' muscles also became more defined. Lynn could feel the terrifying power in their bodies.
"Grab that stone," Lynn ordered.
As he commanded, the two warriors walked over to a nearby rock that weighed six hundred pounds and lifted it with one hand. Lynn's eyes glinted at the sight.
"Throw it in the direction of the mountain! How far will it go?"
One of the half wolf warriors roared, and with their bulging muscles they threw the stone. A six hundred pound rock cut through the air in an arc and landed at least two kilometers2 away from the origin point. A loud thud sounded out as the boulder hit the ground. The villagers were startled, and Buno quickly rushed over.
"The Holy Emperor, ah… This amazing power…" Buno was shocked at the display.
"Divide twenty villagers into two groups," Lynn told Buno,"and collect stones. The heavier the better. They also cannot be too smooth as they need grips. When we siege Sla, we will bombard the city door with them, understand?"
"Understood. I will prepare enough stones for the warriors as soon as possible," Buno said with awe.
Lynn was in a good mood and he looked at the direction of Sla City.
"The city walls for Sla City should be made of mud, right?"
Bluestone was a strong and stable material. Frost Maple City with its large market and wealth could afford to use bluestone as its base. However a town would not be able to use the stone and instead, used mud bricks which were stronger than wood or stone. Lynn had never been to the town of Sla, but he presumed that the other side used thick mud walls.
"You are a genius," Buno nodded. "It is indeed a mud brick wall."
"Can you destroy their walls with a stone thrown by the half orcs?" Lynn asked.
"One impact should not be enough," Buno mused. "Their walls are thick, but if there are three or five strikes the walls should not be able to withstand."
"It is not a problem. Just prepare more stones," Lynn laughed.
Buno was getting a little excited. The war was finally coming, and it would be the first battle Lynn fought as a Lord! Buno rushed to gather people to collect stones. Right now, large rocks were the most important resource for attacking Sla, so according to Lynn's plan it would be best to prepare more than a hundred boulders. While preparing the armaments, the villagers also had to harvest the wheat.
When the food was ready, the villagers would become Lynn's transport forces to move stones and food towards Sla City. Since Lynn was in no hurry, he used up the rest of the System points first. After five evolutions, a monster could still continue to evolve as it had yet to reach its limit. Although, Lynn did not use the System points to further evolve it since he prioritized overall strength for the war.
Lynn decided to improve the army as a whole first. He upgraded two half wolves to rank four, so now there were 96 half beasts who had gone through three evolutions. However, since Lynn was short of a hundred points, there was one warrior who was unable to evolve. They would have to wait for tomorrow.
After the evolutions, Lynn had the warriors look for boulders together. They were more efficient, and it was estimated that the harvest would be completed by the time winter comes. Lynn wanted to look at the fire mushrooms and saw that a thousand of them had matured. Buno had sent his entourage to begin removing the spores. Once they were taken, the mushrooms could be sold.
Lynn wanted to leave a hundred potions for his own use. Nine hundred of them could be sold for four hundred and fifty gold coins, which meant that in less than a month Lynn could gain a massive amount of money. This far exceeded the average aristocrat's income. Theresa also earned about 4,500 gold coins in a year, so Lynn's potion growing business would exceed her total income.
This time, Lynn would expand the planting scale again with the spores that were taken down. However, the magic density of the village had been reduced considerably. The mana around the village could not feed too many fire mushrooms, which limited their cultivation. It did not matter, though. Lynn had a long term plan to mine the iron ore in the Maple Mountains after the war. He planned to build a stronghold near the blacksmith to clean up the nearby beasts and monsters. He needed some more troops to protect the territory.
The stronghold was deep in the mountains and was protected by the woods, making for natural camoflage. Once the base was established, one would not even think about attacking this place. No one even knew that there was a place in the Maple Mountains to mine ore and forge weapons, and with the scale of the magic drug cultivation there would be no need to worry. Forging weapons would be safe also. Yet, it took a lot of population to do so. Lynn estimated it would take at least a thousand people to establish such a stronghold, but right now Lynn only had two hundred and sixty people. It certainly was not enough.
After seeing the fire mushrooms, Lynn went back to the study and began to meditate to enhance his magic. Despite being a magician Lynn did not slack off. After meditating, Lynn controlled his mana and turned it into a flame, but he could not get the flame away from his finger to attack someone.
Lynn's magic value should have reached more than 1,500 points and with powerful first order magic, he would be able to cause a massive amount of casualties to a normal army. Unfortunately, the magic books to learn such spells were too expensive. As he was thinking, Lynn heard Lucy knock on the door.
"Lynn, it seems that the Magician's Association has sent someone. They are outside the castle and wanted to see you," Lucy said.
"Bring them into the first hall," Lynn said as he stood up.
