Elias stood in the cave with his body weak and his face still bearing the strain of his long slumber. Though he was conscious, his energy was far from restored. His eyes, usually sharp and filled with an otherworldly wisdom, seemed tired, almost dull, as he gazed out into the cave's shadows.
"I need to regain my strength," Elias said with almost a whisper.
Oslov, still processing everything that had happened, looked at him with concern. "How can you do that? You were unconscious for so long. What will it take?"
"There are certain places on this Earth," Elias explained, "where I have stored iotas of my energy—hidden wells of power scattered across the globe. If I can reach them, I can begin to reclaim a part of my strength. It will not be everything, but I cannot confront the new Outworldly as I am."
