"What do you mean I'm supposed to be here? Who are you? And WHERE are you?" Megan yelled out her questions for it to echo into the cave.
"Come inside the cave and you shall see who I am child" as soon as the voice spoke in her head, Megan saw a bright yellow glowing dot flying in the air.
"What the fuck is that?" Megan looked at it bewildered taking a step back. It was flying! Was this magic? She have only heard about them in books and tales. Never in her life she would see this with her own eyes. If this person speaking into her head can cast spells of some sort, this dagger is practically useless.
"Is that you?" She asked.
"No, it is not. Follow that glowing speck so you can reach me child" says the voice.
She still wasn't sure if she could trust this voice that's speaking in her head. But still agree in the end.
"Alright" she replied as she took her dagger to make lines on the wall so if she needed to escape she would know the correct way out.
Megan followed the glowing ball into the cave. They walked in a straight line for a while before taking a left. Then she had to climb down steep rocks. Noticing Megan was climbing down slowly, the glowing ball stopped moving and waited for its host to get down before flying further into the cave. She climbed down slowly, but still managed to get scratches on her hands because of how sharp the rocks were.
Megan climbed down and got to the ground before venturing further into the unknown. She thought if that voice belonged to a person... it has to be, how else would it be able to communicate with her? What was communicating with her? A wolf? HA! She chuckled at her silly thought.
Meanwhile, someone took offense to it. 'How could she think that I'm a dog?! A lowly dog?'
Megan sneezed, "is it colder in here?".
They walked, well she walked a bit more before the glowing ball took another left.
She started hear water, like huge splashing sounds. Megan immediately wondered if this cave was connected to the waterfall and lake, which is not far from here.
Megan walked down the slanted slope and saw dusty red velvet curtains serving as a 'door' of huge entranceway. The wall looked like someone punched a huge block of rock out of it then hung the curtains from the inside as a door.
The glowing ball flew pass the curtains, so Megan took it as an invitation to go pass it. She took a deep breath and held onto their dagger tight as if trying to mold the weapon into her hands. Megan was preparing for the worse, for the trap.
Her heart was shaking in her chest as she used her arms to move the curtains aside and walked in.
Her heart slipped out of her cage looking at to the majestic scene before her.
The cave was beautiful, yes. Since they traveled and climbed down further into the underground she knew they were deep under. Inside here was huge... of course it has to be huge. There was a large hole on top of the cave letting in fresh air and sunlight to shine through, there's even water dropping down making a mini waterfall. But all of that beautiful nature did not capture Megan's attention as her eyes were on the majestic creature before her.
It has black scales and long antler like horns on its head. It's large glossy golden eyes were staring right into her grey ones. The mighty creature slowly moved its body to sit in an upright position. She could see the sharp nails on its hand.
It's neck stretched up as it flicked its long spiky tail, its black feathered wings flapped. The creature had only moved its wings once, but the force was so strong, Megan fell to her butt.
"Took you long enough" the creature opened its mouth so say slowly.
Megan's brain was malfunctioning as she bent her neck upwards to look at the creature. Her mouth opened, but she couldn't get any words out. There is a legendary dragon right in front of her face... and it's TALKING.
"H-how w-what-" she stuttered. Megan didn't know if she felt bewildered, scared, or overjoyed to see the majestic creature of her dreams.
"I waited a couple of centuries for you to show up and here you are too stunt to even say a proper sentence" the dragon said.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? This is my first time looking at a creature ten times my size, let alone a dragon!" Megan yelled in her own defense.
"Wow that old man really gave a fiery master" the dragon murmured.
"Master? Old man? Wait more importantly..." Megan held up her dagger, "are you going to eat me?"
The mighty dragon opened its mouth, Megan closed her eyes in fear, but to only hear a hearty laugh echoing in the cave.
"HAHAHAHA child I am the majestic dragon, I have class darling. I eat the fishes falling from that little stream of water" the dragon used its eyes to point at the water stream falling off a part of the huge hole in the ceiling.
She sat there in a daze as she looked at the dragon. Her mind was still processing, but it was slow.
The dragon shook its head as she looked at her destined to be master. 'How do I get her out of that shock? Was it too much for her?'
"Are you alright master?" The dragon asked moving her head closer to the girl sitting on the ground.
Megan shook herself out of her daze and asked, "why are you calling me master?"
"The old man created me, his finest creation, to bless you, his blessed child" the dragon answered seriously.
"Huhhhh?"
