Angel is commonly defined as a celestial attendant of God, in other words, they are the messenger of God. What if the heavenly being we always known full with their own conflict? Eden, the gardens of serenity to both living and dead, but a hell in disguise. Banned from the majestic heaven, damned by the citizen of earth, the fallen, cursed to roam the mortal realm for eternity. The war of infinity, the one that is forgotten is yet to end. It is only beginning.
“Flammae saltant concurrere ferro argenti rivus sanguinis,
Luna lucet in hortis caelorum,
Alis, clamantibus ferventibus cineribus,
Salvos nos fac mi La Luna
Suspendisse oculos habeant pecuniam, conuiges vinculum,
Oculi aurea, crus plumis, unguibus appetit tamquam pugionem de proditione,
Atlas orbis cordibus habere mi La Luna,
At dampnas lapsus, et torquem aeternum,
Caligavit ab odio et semper in sempiternum,
Liga omnuim nostrum mi La Luna.”
(“Dancing flames, clashing swords, river of silver blood,
the moon shines on the garden of Eden.
Flapping wings, battle cry, burning ashes,
safe us dear La Luna.
Amber eyes, silver fur, bonds of the mate,
Golden eyes, shiny feathers, talon as the dagger of betrayal
Hold our hearts dear La Luna.
Fallen and damn, eternity as chain,
Forever and always clouded by hatred,
Bind us all dear La Luna.”)
The old tale of the legion of 99 Fallen. Cursed and damned to roam the mortal realm. The real tale of the event remained buried with the fallen as they are living among the mortals. Even though they were cast out, their power remained. Two main clans emerged from then as the night people. I know many would question why would lots of them were punished when the wrong was only two. Well, let’s just say that the Lord worked in a mysterious way.
Once we were angels and now we’ve sinned. On what some of you would ask again, well we broke one of the sacred rules of the heaven which was no blood shall be shed in the realm of peace and purity. That one sacred rule that we broke was to save heaven but that doesn’t mean an excuse for us not to be punished. Since that day we were labeled by many names, the fallen ones, Nephilim, or in a more poetic way, one that reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. If I were to voice my mind, I don’t think we were to blame.
Sorry for staying into my emotional turmoil but yeah, you get the idea. Even though we were angel, to be more specific our father is one of the archangels, but the fact doesn’t stop me from hating the guts of the two most idiotic being that was the cause of this. Father once pointed out that my emotion would be the death of me. With all the temper and resentment. He would have flicked me if he knew I still hate them. Oh sweet lord, sorry to stray again. Well, let’s begin, as I mentioned before the fallen form two main clans. They called themselves the shifter.
One in their wolf form they went with their animal instinct, but they still connect to their so-called ‘human’ part. As the wolf and the human reside in one vessel, they connect to each other. One dies the other suffers. The human die so does the wolf. In simpler terms, humans called us werewolves. As we were cast out, we were granted the human traits to help us blend in but the power resided within us, make us the freak of nature. All in all, those traits hold us to our vessel, tied us to the ground. Kept us from turning into animals and go rouge. This was the reason we stayed in packs.
Even though more than a thousand years had passed since we were cast out, the war still ongoing and left us the remaining two packs of the shifter out of nine originally like the other left scared and weak. Due to the never-ending war, we had to choose the sides as that was the only choice that was left for the survivor. The two strongest packs were known as the follower of Lycaon and the Atos enthusiast. Since the dark ages, the Lycaon and the Atos separated by hatred and vengeance. Yes, you guessed it, the Lycaon and the Atos were the two angel sides that went to war in heaven. Atos was a good friend of my father. It was sad that he was clouded and blinded that easily by that worm.
Enough about him for now, the Lycaon ruled by the Wolfrik brothers, Arakiel the current alpha, which as you can see it’s me and Araxiel my loyal beta. By the way, we were twins and had been ruling the Ambersky pack (well sometimes out of habit we would call our pack or land as Lycaon as our father was the one who found it) since our father stepped down 500 years ago. Yes, that long ago.
Other than that, we were cast out some millennium ago, so that made me really old. But the perks of being immortal we aged really slow, and I had to say we do look a hell lot younger than our age. If one would consider my age in the human age system, I would be not older than 20 years old. Given that our banishment lasts till judgment day, I would say slow aging is essential to us.
As they say the longer you live the more you see. Which was true, but living that long doesn’t mean that one would learn from their mistake. In our case, let’s just say that killing is the only solution to everything wrong in this world even though it got us stripped of our holiness and gone in exile. That’s why some of us would have the blood lust and sometimes even turn rogue. It’s saddening but what to do was our choice. So our past was told to the younger generation. In hoping to teach them not to make the same mistake as we once made. It seems hypocritical to some. But as they said old flame hard to die.
The moon shines bright in the clear sky, lit up the forest trail. The soft thumping of my paws and breathing echoed throughout the silent plain. Not a single soul came across my hunting path. The night seems a bit odd and the air felt suffocating than normal. I shrugged the uneasiness and looked past the twin pine that stood tall as if it was the gates to our realm. My mind drifts off to the old days. If not for the betrayal of Atos we would not be here. I growled at the memory, it was not us, father tried to stop him. Atos was his good friend but Orias changed him. He was the one at fault. Because of him, we were punished as betrayers.
