Scarlet POV
(The air turned black around me as I wandered through the graveyard, it felt like something or someone was watching me. I kept moving, speeding my pace up.
A shrill cry echoed in the mist and I dashed off not knowing where I was or where I was headed. Eyes followed me down the dark graveyard and I hear running steps just behind me. My breath got heavy as the footsteps came closer and closer. I gave out a scream as I tripped and fell flat on the ground. A cold shrill run down my spine and I broke into a cold sweat. Darkness clouded my sight as icy fingers lingered around my arm and finally gripped my arm in the darkness)
"Ahhhhh!!!!!"I bolted up with a scream from my bed with sweat dribbling all over my whole body. My room door flung open and my mom stood in the doorway with a look of horror on her face
" Hey, what's wrong?. Are you okay" she asked me as she slowly came closer to me and embraced me. I was still not in my right state of mind. I clung onto her like it was my last as I began to put together the pieces of my horrible dream. I had a bad feeling about the dream I just woke up from.
"Are you sure your okay?" my mom asked for the hundredth time.
"I'm fine mom" and I also answered her for the hundredth time. She looked at me with a doubtful look as she left my room. I continued to lay in my bed, staring at the ceiling. My chest rising and falling as I remembered that day, the worst day of my life and probably all the rest, "h.e.l.p, help me please, he_lp" I still can't forget that day, the day it all began. The day I would do everything to go back to and rewind. I can never forget the look on her face as she screamed for help.
" Aren't you getting ready for your first day?"I heard my mom's loud voice from the kitchen. I suddenly brushed the creepy thoughts out of my head as I tried to make sense of what my mom was saying"Damn! I'm late" suddenly I remembered what day it was and dashed into the bathroom. Today was the first day of high school and I only had about half an hour before the start of the first day of high school. Squirting shampoo into my boringly dull brown hair, I lathered and rinsed, I turned the water off and wrapped a towel around my small pale body. I scrambled into the room, picked out a sweatshirt and black Jeans across the pole in my closet. I pulled my hair up into a messy bun and grabbed my school bag and headed out the front door." I'm off to school " I yelled out knowing very well that my mom wouldn't hear me. I wanted to avoid all the "my baby girl is all grown up. Make sure you make good friends. Make sure u eat lunch. " drama from my mom. I felt bad leaving without saying goodbye tho, my mom is always my number one. She's been my dad, my mom, my friend and my therapist ever since I was born. I didn't grow up with a dad. I heard he passed away when I was a baby from my mom and that's what I have believed in since I was born and since she never talks about how he died or what happened and I never asked questions either. I knew she had her painful reasons why she didn't wanna talk about him.
I snapped out of my thoughts and went outside where my car was parked.
I entered the car and slammed the door shut. I felt shivers immediately I entered the car like I was being watched. I shrugged the thought out if my head and started the engine. I tuned in some music to avoid thinking about any of the past.
Before I even realized it, I was seeing the name of my school. The drive to the school took about 20 minutes. I pulled in the parking lot of the building:(HILVERY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL) The school in which I will be facing a lot of familiar faces from my ugly past.
I found myself gripping the steering wheel of the car so tight my knuckles turned white." how I'm I supposed to get through the day?"I kept thinking to myself. I tried my best to gain my composure, I looked at myself in the rearview mirror and my face had turned pale."Everything's gonna be fine, everything's gonna be fine" I kept repeating to myself. A knock on my driver's side window startled me and I looked to see her.
