The Plane Crash

Abilities the powers of which normal humans can not use. Monster's, freaks, people have called those with these abilities with such names, but there is one name that became attached to them eventually.

~~

One day a young girl with white hair and silver eyes only 14 years old boards a plane without her parents coming back from a trip to see relatives out of her home country. She was still fairly young a was slightly anxious as she boarded the large flight looking for her seat. She found her seat and tried to get her small carry-on suitcase in the overhead bin but couldn't reach it. '"Ah let me help little lady."' A man in the row behind her said as he got up and picked up her suitcase and put it in the overhead bin.

'"Thank you very much, sir."' She replied with a slight smile.

'"It was no trouble."' He replied returning her smile in kind before returning to his seat. The girl then moved over to her seat placing her other bag under the seat in front of her. She sat down and buckled up the waste belt looking out the window.

"It's the girl from earlier. I didn't expect us to be sitting so close to each other on the plane."

"Oh hello, ma'am. Did everything work out well after I left?"

"Ah yes it worked out quite well. Thank you for helping translate between me and the store owner earlier it was a big help."

"It's no problem I have relatives from here so I speak the language quite fluently. I just saw you were having trouble so I just thought it was just the right thing to do and help."

"Well being so young and speaking two languages quite well is an impressive feat. I'll express my thanks later in the flight alright."

"Mmmm~ okay." She replied to the women in English.

After the plane filled up and everything was boarded the plane took off she looked out the window in amazement. The flight was an overnight flight and as the woman said she bought the young girl some snacks from the inflight service as thanks for earlier.

The flight was running fairly smoothly as it flew over the North Atlantic ocean back to Canada. The girl was resting as the plane flew overnight when a loud bang rang throughout the cabin of the plane. There was still about 4 hours or so left in the flight... there was a sudden emergency with the plane which forced them to divert from Toronto to St. John's (Newfoundland).

When people learned of the issue from the pilot and we were diverting to St. John's there was a moment of silence from disbelief till someone broke out into a cry. It was a chilling atmosphere that was in the plane and the young girl was shaking slightly understanding the severity of the situation she might not return home.

The cabin was prepared as the plane made its way to the small international airport. But this small airport was this plane's best hope of landing the plane.

It was a very long time for the passengers that felt like an eternity. They could very well die in the next few moments people had begun to write a will as others prayed to their god for salvation. The young white-haired girl put a cell phone and a small whistle in a zipper pocket as she looked out the window. The occasional sound of a terrible storm could be heard, and the noises of out of place mechanical noises (sounds that one shouldn't hear) could be heard throughout the cabin.

What happened at the end was a sudden and loud crash resounded then a scraping sound before things broke appears during this mess many people were knocked unconscious. After about 35 minutes after the crash, the white-haired girl woke up in the crash site badly injured but alive. Her heart pounding she could feel the blood trickling down her face she tried to stand up but let out a pained yell as her left leg was trapped in the twisted wreckage of the plane. The pain was immense as she could feel the metal digging into her flesh. She began to cry out in pain as her leg screamed feeling completely crushed as she fell back down to the ground. She held her hand out in front of her. It was shaking and her versos blurry either from the tears or blood loss and tried to use her ability to pry open the twisted wreckage to free her leg but she was in too much pain and emotional distress to control her power's properly to do such a feat.

She couldn't calm down as the pain in her leg just kept reminding her of the situation. Just the overall pain she felt in her body made tears stream down her face, the fear long set in.

'"L-little miss... you still alive?"' The man that helped the young girl earlier before the flight begun asked. She wiped her tears and tried to force down the sobs.

'"M-my leg... it h-hurts. It's being crushed. I-I can't get it off."' She cried.

'"Everything will be alright. just take some deep breaths."'

'"O-okay. Okay."' She replied between sobs.

'"We got to stay awake I didn't hear anyone nearby outside."'

'"Yeah... they sound far..."'

'"They might not realize that there are some people alive over here."'

'"... I have a whistle."'

'"Blow it!"'

The white-haired girl fumbled with the zipper on the pocket before pulling out the whistle with her bloody hand. She then brought it close to her lips. '"I'm going to blow it."' She told the man before placing her lips onto the slight cold metal and blowing. A loud trill sound began to ring from the wreckage. This brought some rescuer's attention over to the other section of the plane where the girl and man resided in this sound even woke some of the passenger's that were hardly even alive. The girl took a breath then begun to blow again as the worker listened inside and realized there was someone inside making that noise intentionally.

"You alive in there?!"

"Y-yes! Please save us!"

'"Tell them about your leg you need immediate attention."'

"Ah, also m-my leg the mister told me to mention it it's trapped. I think I'm starting to lose feeling."

"Alright, we'll get you out of there just hold on!"

Workers then began to work on the area of wreckage that the girl was trapped in she used her ability to be to open up the wreckage making an open passageway between the outside and inside. They made a large opening so some workers could get the other passengers out while others worked on freeing the girl's leg, even with the help of the girl's ability to free her leg took 45 minutes. By that point, the girl could hardly even feel her leg.

The workers didn't let her see her leg the miss coloured twisted and broken leg not far below the kneecap. She was taken to a hospital immediately... the next time she awoke the white-haired girl had lost her left leg from just below the kneecap down.

It was hard to decide how this story was to start but in the end, I decided this was the best place to open up the story to readers.

A brief talk about the term Esper which is important for the story, followed by the life-changing and scaring plane crash that occurred.

Also of note for those reading my story for the first time '[Blank]' indicates the words in between the single quotes are italicized when like this '"[blank]"' I'm indicating to you that the spoken words are in a different language to what is mainly spoken in the chapter. I used this for most of the chapter to indicate this.
