"People who are sensible about love are incapable of it." ~ Douglass Yates.
Prince Alexius Nikoloudis II was visiting the village, something felt different. The independent city of Acamas was beautiful and gifted with greener grass, a number of trees, beautiful hills and flowing rivers. He had always loved doing this with his father when he was a boy... he waned to see how other people lived-his people.
"Stop the carriage!" He said abruptly.
"My King." The royal servant aforesaid. The Prince was shocked why were they addressing him as King and not Prince. He wasn't a King yet as far as he was concerned.
"Daddy!"
He whipped his head to face the direction where the little voice was coming from. A little brown haired girl was sat on Princess Amelia's lap. He was beyond confused.
"Daddy-" She giggled with her front teeth missing. He blinked but she was still there. Could this be the daughter he had with Lucia? no it couldn't be. She had hazel brown eyes and brown shoulder length hair. She looked a lot like-
Princess Amelia.
"Honey, your daughter is speaking to you?" Princess Amelia said softly. He blinked multiple times looking rather confused.
"Uh-uhm yes?" He said not sure what to say.
"Mommy says I can't play with my friend." The little girl said sadly.
"Which friend?" Prince Alexius said faking interest.
"Theo!!" She whined.
"Honey we talked about this, you can't be friends with Theo anymore because you are a Princess and-" Princess Amelia was cut off by a loud whimper.
"I don't wanna be a Princess." She cried loudly.
"Come here-" Prince Alexius didn't know what to call her, it felt as if he wasn't in his world but in a different world. "Sweety?" He finished his sentence.
"How about we go see your friend Theo?" Prince Alexius said wiping his supposedly daughter's tears. She nodded. "Really?" She smiled a little..
"Honey, I thought we talked about this last night?" Princess Amelia said directly at her husband.
"I know but I think if you won't allow them to be friends, they should at least see each other one last time." He reasoned.
Princess Amelia shook her head in disbelief. "You just want to see her ? Is that it ?" She added.
"See who?" He questioned.
"My King, we are here as requested by the Princess." One of the servants said. He nodded dismissing them immediately.
"Elisabet go see Theo while I talk to your daddy." Princess Amelia said, in that moment Prince Alexius learned that his daughter was named Elisabet, she looked nothing like him but more like his mother.
"Okay daddy." She said sweetly as she ran off but one of the servants escorted the little princess.
"Alexius, you know damn right what will happen if Elisabet and Theo continue being friends." Princess Amelia said with a frown.
"I don't." He ignored her immediately going out of the carriage. Once he was out he composed his stature and began towards the door to a small cozy little house. It was not big neither not too small but it looked homely with many flower pots all around.
"I'M HEADING BACK." Princess Amelia yelled clearly resentful.
The Prince intended to knock but the door was already open so he entered. He was greeted with a familiar vanilla essence. It aroused him, he didn't know why-
"My daddy said I could visit you anytime even though my mommy was pretty mad-" Princess Elisabet explained to a little blonde boy who was slightly taller than the Princess.
"Really your dad is nice." The boy replied. When the boy turned around, Prince Alexius heart clenched. The little boy had sapphire blue eyes, but much brighter. His blonde bangs almost covered his face, he was the cutest-
He grinned making his one dimple much visible. It was familiar but he couldn't put his finger on it.
"Your Highness !" The blonde little boy smiled with excitement. It had not dawned onto him that he was in the Kings Presence.
"Remember my dad said you could call him by his name." Princess Elisabet giggled.
"You must be Theo." Prince Alexius said apprehensively.
"Theodore Salavas your highness." The boy who looked about nine years old said respectfully. "I assume you are here to see my papa? he left to meet some old friends at the factory just before you arrived." He explained. Prince Alexius was confused until he heard her voice-
"Theo?" She said coming into view. His heart skipped a beat.
Lucia.
"Uhm your royal highness what are you doing here ?" She bluntly asked. "I mean How may I help you ?" She corrected. He looked at her from head to toe, she looked beyond beautiful with a kitchen apron but something caught his eye... her stomach-
"My mama is having a baby." Theo said to Prince Alexius.
Prince Alexius felt hurt.
"I just came to see Elisabet's friend, she speaks so highly of him." He smiled, catching her eye. He found himself smiling-
"Theo why don't you and Lisa go in the kitchen and have the cookies, i just backed-" Lucia said gloomily making the kids run faster towards through kitchen.
"Lucia." Prince Alexius said closing the distance between them. "I love you, i love you so much. I have been meaning to tell you this for a week. I'm sorry about what I said-" He blabbered.
"I haven't seen you in years, what are you talking about ?" She whisper yelled.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you the other day." He said out of daze.
"King Alexius, I thought we agreed that we would never speak of this again. No one should know about Theo and him being friends with your daughter isn't a good idea. I have been gone for over six years and we are only here because Khristian's mother is sick." She explained, things started to make sense had he been asleep throughout all these years, it was just yesterday when he had met her. Now he had a daughter named Elisabet, he was married, he was a King-
"Theo is ours?" He questioned.
"Yes." She replied without a doubt. "He has your eyes." She frowned.
"Is this ours too? have we been meeting by the river ?" He asked his eyes gleamed with hope sadly she shook her head.
"I have moved on, Khris and I are expecting our first child. That ended years back-" She said rubbing small belly bump.
"It's Guten Tag in German." Theo appeared excitedly talking to Elisabet.
"I wish I stayed in Germany too." She sighed.
"I stay in Austria, they speak German too." Theo replied.
"Daddy I wana go to Austria too." she said looking up to her dad Prince Alexius stared at his son and with curiosity and hurt clear in his eyes. His chest tightened at the thought of his Lucia being intimate with Khristian. What had become off his life?
"Alexius?" He blinked his eyes open revealing his cousin Elias.
"I have been calling you-" Elias said clearly irritated.
"What happened?" He asked.
"You passed out AGAIN. You need to get it together your father arrives today from France." Elias instructed.
"Oh yeah right about that-" He frowned still trying to adjust his eyes to the sunlight in his room.
"Lucia?" He inquired.
"Forget about her." Elias shrugged rolling his eyes before leaving him alone with his thoughts.
"At least I get to marry a Princess not a factory worker who earns peanuts, I wonder just how long it will take him to save up for so called Paris? A decade most probably let's be realistic." Alexius words rang in her head more than she would have liked for them to. Why couldn't she think of much more blissful words that he had said to her multiple times. When he called her beautiful, whenever he said she had this cute giggle or that he loved the fact that she had one dimple on her left cheek.. he wondered where was the other one. He always teased her, in the time they spent together she felt like she had known him for a lifetime but she was wrong. He was royalty, he didn't care about her, she just happened to be one of his many expeditions.
"You are thinking about him." Khristian's mother interrupted her thoughts. Her cheeks flushed, she wasn't supposed to. This was Lucia, her thoughts always got carried away with playing with her emotions. She imagined many things, many scenarios until she could actually see it happening.
"No." She said quickly. "I'm sorry." She said fumbling with her fingers confusion clear on her face.
"Why do you apologize ?" She said softly.
"I'm married to your son and here I am sitting pregnant with another men's child and still thinking about him-" Lucia sighed.
"Good thoughts ?" She questioned.
"Just the horrible." Lucia mumbled.
"Your know i spent loads of time with Alexius as a child, well enough to know that he means well." She added.
Lucia sighed. "It's actually my fault for expecting too much for my own good."
"You deserve happiness too and this baby will give you that." She persuaded and Lucia nodded rubbing her five months old belly bump.
