TWENTY SEVEN

"I love when you called me Seniora" the highly annoying pitched voice rang all over the kitchen walls which have suffered more than any other wall on this planet.

We all rolled our eyes for the umpteenth time for the past hour. As soon as we woke up this morning, we have all been in the kitchen preparing variety of delicacies, no maid have stepped foot outside this kitchen except Miss Helda.

And to kill off the boredom, Georgia announced she was going to sing with her and I quote 'amazingly awesome voice' for entertainment. At first, we were all excited to hear her voice but when she opened her mouth, we deeply regretted ever encouraging her to perform for us.

We all thought we misheard the first time we heard her but when she continued singing with confidence, we realized, we heard it clear and correct.

How to describe the way her voice sounds...The serene, calm and soothing deep voice that have the power to move one's soul, it was the total opposite of that.

It was the example of a rat which was stuck inside a trumpet, trying to escape from the hole. Her voice was the epitome of destruction, disaster and coarseness.

There isn't an angle you would hear it from that you can convince yourself that she is able to sing because it is terrible in every angle and decimal point.

At first, we all burst into laughter when we heard her, it was funny but when she continued nonstop, we tried to stop her but she didn't stop, she continued and it was like it was getting worse every second.

Now, we are all sitting, doing our work in silence as she sang and sang her intestines out. Mrs Hatchman left a while ago, not being able to handle the poison anymore.

"I loved it when you called me Seniora" she belted out the totally wrong lyrics with utter confidence and my heart nearly ached for her.

Nearly.

"When is she going to stop?" Sarah grimaced.

"Georgia" I called but she didn't pay heed to me.

"George!" I raised my voice yet she didn't still answer me.

I carried the bowl filled with water that Francesca was about to use and marched towards the screaming goat. Without a second thought, I dropped the water all over her and she took a few steps back from the shock.

"What on earth is wrong with you?!!" she yelled and glared at me.

"Is it just me or is here so damn hot?" I used my hand to fan myself and pretended I didn't hear her.

"Yeah, it's very hot" Helen said.

"I never told you I was feeling hot" Georgia hissed.

"Well, you were performing a tremendous job at entertaining us so I thought you would love a cool bath"

"You are just jealous of my voice. You're jealous that all attention is going to me and not you" my loud chuckles shut her up.

"Jealous of what? Your voice that sounds like a pig being strangled. I have better things to be jealous of, George and you are not even in the top fifty of things I should be jealous of so chill. baby" I walked back to the counter and began cutting the vegetables as I hummed a light tone with a content smile in my lips.

The glare she sent through my way should have been disturbing but I couldn't care less about her. When she saw I wasn't paying a single attention her way, she stormed out of the kitchen like a child.

Everyone, including Mrs Scott sighed in relief once she was out of the kitchen and began our work in peace after she left.

Tonight is a very special night for the Bladderworts, it marks the twenty fifth anniversary of the Industry in their business so they are holding a grand party tonight, inviting friends, families and colleagues to have a feast.

We have been busy since this morning, preparing the food which were to be served in the party, the decorations are being done by a famous interior designer to make sure the party is to the utmost perfection.

I use the sharp knife to cut and slice the vegetables to be used for tonight's dishes. Chloe, Violet and Francesca are in charge of the cooking while the rest of us are preparing the ingredients while Sarah is baking with the help of Mrs Scott.

Miss Helda, as ususal, is walking to and fro to inspect the work. I let out a sarcastic comments about her intrusive behavior once in a while and the glare she sends my way is enough to roast a chicken.

"Hey, guys" I hear a voice but I don't look up from my work to acknowledge his presence.

"I spilled some juice in my room, Rose, come clean it up" I looked up from the vegetables to his sharp blue eyes.

After the not really conducive conversation yesterday, I totally disregarded his presence throughout the day. Although, it was quite hard to pull off but I believe I performed extraordinarily well.

"Let me help you clean it, sir" Sarah moved forward to him when she was stopped.

"I asked for Rosaline, not you Sarah" said Chris as he kept his intense gaze on me.

Though reluctant, I dropped the knife, grabbed a mop from the stall and stepped out of the kitchen with him close behind me.

None of us said a word as we climbed upstairs and down the hall to his room. As soon as I entered the room, he locked the door and grabbed the mop from me.

"Rosa"

"Where is the juice, Sir? I am busy and have to quickly get down before I am called" I bowed my head and talked in the utmost polite tone.

"Stop ths. We need to talk" he grabbed my shoulders and raised my head.

"We have nothing to talk about, sir" I kept my voice firm.

"I don't understand why you are so upset with me, I just want to be with you and I thought you wanted the same"

"I did"

"Did? What do you mean by that? Does that mean you don't want me anymore?" he asked and I looked away.

"I have work to do, sir" I removed his hands from my shoulders and moved to step out of the room when I heard his voice.

"Don't give up on me even before you gave me a chance" He pleaded.

"Too bad, I might have already did" I said and unlocked the door.

I went downstairs and entered the guest living room in which was completely empty and sat on a side. I rested my head on my hands and let a sigh.

This is what Lorenzo warned me about, he told me to never show any emotion because once anyone sees an emotion, they take advantage of you and destroy you.

That night, I was vulnerable and helpless so I was weak against my feelings. I didn't think twice before putting my lips on his.

And the second I tasted him, I knew it was impossible to return.
