Chapter 12: Battle at The Beach, Part 6

"Nanao-what the heck?" he muttered.

"Storm! We need to leave, right now!" she yelled.

Getting up and stumbling a bit, Nanao looked around, the vision in her right eye distorted, as blood had gotten in it.

"What happened to your eye? Are you okay?" he asked worriedly, touching her face.

"Don't worry about that! Celeste is going to use drastic measures! We need to leave!" Storm looked up, seeing Celeste with a bright light shining in front of her.

Nanao looked as well, fear in her eyes. Celeste put her hands out in front of her. She had her eyes closed and when she opened them, they were glowing sky blue. She began to chant some words.

"Terra, Anaheim, Astronomia-I call upon thy power. Make these vile creatures disappear." She said.

Storm and Nanao searched their pockets for their crystals frantically. All the while this happened, Celeste raised her hands in front of her, touching the light, praying.

"God forgive me-" she muttered as three circles glowing blue formed on the beach like a target.

A large hilt arose from the sandy ground. Celeste raised her right hand upwards, her body emitting a faint light. A large sword, the blade eight feet in length with ancient carvings, rose from the ground. It had three holes emitting a blue light from each hole, the holes going smaller from the tip of the blade. The blade flipped in the air, as through it was a person holding it, about to cut something down.

"Perish," she said.

Throwing her hand down, the blade struck the ground, cracking the stone beneath the sand. Blue flames and an explosion emanated from the struck center. Celeste watched as the island began to fade into destruction. The sand was thrown around along with the soldiers, and the ocean water engulfed the island as it sunk. The blue flames kept chasing and destroying everything in sight, the corpses and such fading away into dust, the energy from the blade destroying it all.

The city on the island suffered as well, the villages and people suffering the same fate as there was no warning for this attack. Celeste tilted her head to the left, watching the destruction in a daze. As though she was entranced, she stared at the island sinking into the seemingly bottomless ocean, the screams of terror almost inaudible to her.

Nanao and Storm had used their crystals to escape; both had managed to get on a ship full of people, almost suffering the same fate those on the island did. Nixanya was nowhere in sight as the two sat in the ship. She had escaped, knowing Celeste's wrath all too well. Naisyn and Angel's ship had already sailed, escaping the island just before the attack. Looking back, Naisyn and Angel witnessed the blade destroy the entire island, with one strike to the ground. Storm and Nanao panted, what with being almost killed in the attack, they didn't expect all this destruction to be spread so quickly. Nanao knew that the attack was strong, but she couldn't believe what she had just witnessed.

"What. The. Hell. Is she crazy!?" Storm yelled, watching the island crumble up, sinking in the water.

"She had to-well-did she?" Nanao began to question her judgment.

Standing in the ship with multiple other survivors, there wasn't much of anywhere they could go and going to the country who owned the island really wasn't the wisest choice for Nanao and Storm. Lots of people escaped the island before it was destroyed, the ships fled quickly.

"We'll be home with time, let's just hope this ship gets us there soon. I'm sure Celeste is upset-" Nanao muttered, a bit afraid, knowing Celeste would scold her.

"Why would she be upset? We didn't cause this! She was there!" Storm began to get riled up. Nanao tried to calm him.

"Storm. Let's just stop talking about it, alright?" she asked him, the boy sighing and nodding.

He looked around, getting a view of the ocean and seeing more ships.

"Wait-hold on." Storm saw ships with Nova's flag going north.

"-Why are Nova's ships heading for Celeste's castle? Shouldn't they be going back to their nation-?" he questioned, looking at her. Nanao looked back at him.

"Something's wrong-" she muttered, biting a nail.
