Chapter 16

As Fran and Hana walked around the town Fran noticed that Hana would look at the village folk as they talked with each other and while the children played. As if wanting to go and speak with them as well but the village folk didn't seem to have the same feelings as her because when they saw her looking they would just give her a distant stare making it hard for her to approach them. Hana was being treated as unwanted even though all she wants is to be friendly with everyone else so she would cling to Fran to not feel lonely. As for Fran he didn't feel anything about it since he didn't care if they didn't want him there as long as they didn't get in his way they are free to think whatever they want of him. It's not like they went out of their way to treat outsiders of the town badly though. If you asked them a question they'll answer or if you are at their store/restaurant they'll accept you as a customer but they still won't like your presence there.

Fran: "Hana are you ok you're looking a bit down."

Hana forces a smile.

Hana: "I'm fine, how could I not be happy when I'm spending time with you."

Fran: "Is that so I'm glad you're having a good time I was worried you weren't happy being with me. Also, is there anything you want to do? You haven't gotten to do much since you have been showing me around so if you want to do something I don't mind going with you."

Hana: "There really isn't anything I'd like to do but I have gotten a bit hungry so do you want to go and eat something."

Fran: "Sure I am a bit hungry myself so that sounds like a great idea."
