Choosing a side

Axel looked towards everyone in the room and said, "During the time of Pokemon tide, the order of the league must be followed to the 'T'. Any violators would be and should be punished by their superiors. This is the law.

The law provides stability and security to people, especially in these situations and since I am the zone commander, I am higher than most of you in the current state of emergency.

Any violators wouldn't be shown mercy no matter who they are. In this situation your Pokemons are more needed than you and not you yourself.

I could just knock you off and tell your Pokemons to help us in exchange for your life and after we deal with the upcoming problem and not pursue actions towards you.

They would be smart to listen to me for your safety. However, their battle efficiency will be reduced drastically and they may become a casualty in the tide."

Axel finished his speech on how he would deal with the violators who don't follow orders.

"So, what do you want to choose?"

Nobody said anything after that. Axel seemed to have made his stand on the group. Axel kicked the lieutenant who was on the ground. The power of Axel's kick could not be underestimated. He had been training his body as long as he could remember and with the power of Aura, this kick was devastating. The lieutenant fainted on the spot.

"So, from now on, I am one of the 5 zone commanders of Burbos town who is tasked with the security of the town from the upcoming Pokemon tide.", declared Axel.

Axel was looking at everyone from the mayor, commander, and zone commanders to lieutenants and captains. None of them objected to his declaration.

"Now the problem of my post has been solved, can I ask what directions I will be posted and what is the general topography of that area and its surrounding?", asked Axel.

"Yes, we will send it to you. But first, we want to know which direction you would take on. There are 5 directions. North, south, east, west, and central.

The duties of North, south, west, and east are self-explanatory. They would face the Pokemon tide. However, the duty of the central side is special. They would help other sides in need and would help the people of the town evacuate if the tide takes over the town.

Since this is your first tide, we want you to select first. We want you to be comfortable.", said Salam.

Salam was the commander of this tide. Rocky, Bhai, Yolk, Boodle and now Axel were the zone commanders of the tide.

"Can you tell me more about the Pokemons on each side?", asked Axel.

"Of course. The North and south side are basically forests. The east side has many hills and mountains and the west side is the sea. We have sent out scouts and they have informed us of the following:

On the north side, you would be fighting mostly with grass-type Pokemons. There would be other types of Pokemons like normal, fighting, dark, psychic etc but you would mainly be fighting with the grass-type Pokemons. You would be facing 10 elemental-ranked Pokemons.

On the south side, there are mostly dark and grass-type Pokemons. There are a total of 7 elemental-rank Pokemons.

East side mainly consists of rock and ground-type Pokemons. There are a total of 7 elemental rank Pokemons there. West side mainly consists of water and ice type Pokemons. There are a total of 6 elemental-rank Pokemon.

Please be noted that the number of elemental-ranked Pokemons mentioned on each side may be more than anticipated.

So, take your pick?", asked Salam.

Axel thought for some time and then said, "I would take the north side."

"Can you explain your reason?"

"I have Beedrill and Nidorino who are in elemental rank. I also have a Charizard. I also have 4 elemental ranked Pokemons. This means I have the highest number of elemental-ranked Pokemons compared to others. So, I should be ideal for the job.", said Axel.

"I see."

"Fine, you will be the north zone commander. All the information and supplies for that area will be given to you. Is there anything else?", asked the Mayor.

"No, everything is fine."

"Alright, the base for the north zone is on the north. Lieutenant Sam and Troy would be under you. They would guide you to the north base. May Arceus be in your favor.", said the mayor.

"May Arceus be in your favor too.", said Axel and followed the 2 guys

After Axel left the room, the normally calm mayor was shaking in anger and his presence was released on all of them.

He then looked at all of them with furious red eyes and roared, "You idiots, do you know what you are doing? You actually dare to question the orders of the top especially in a situation like this. In a state of emergency, the orders of the top inside cannot be violated. No matter what, their orders are sacred.

Do you think that the people there are goody good shoes? All of them have blood on their hands. They have probably ended the lives of hundreds of people and their one decision could affect the life of thousands, if not millions.

What do you think would happen when they know what happened here today? I didn't tell you all but Mark died 3 hours ago due to the same foolishness. The league would not be calm as you think. They don't like disobedient people."

"Don't worry sir. No one here is fool enough to do something like this again. This matter won't be revealed by anyone else.", said one of the captains.

"There is an Alakazam sent here by the league. I don't know where it is right now but I am 100% sure that it is looking at us. The Pokemon is above King ranked. I am sure of that. I don't know why it didn't take any action right now but there won't be a second time."
