Motherly teaching (Chapter 17)

As I looked up towards the sky I noticed we were out hunting for quite a bit. The sun was finally resting height in the sky. So it was middle day now, maybe could learn how to skin from Alawion. it wouldn't hurt to ask, but for now things felt a bit strange for me. preferring to keep my silence I followed behind her through the forest. many of the animal singing there songs as bunnies watched us from a distance. It felt like home but I felt like a stranger to this place as well.

Having finally reached back to the road, we traveled up it passing by few travelers. The closer we got to the city the more clean and kept the road became. I had been nervous at first as those creatures carried today's hunt, The travelers took a wide berth as the saw us approach. While the guards didn't even seem bothered. I hadn't expected them to ask In a excited voice.

"That going to be on tonight meal? Gods how long has it been since I've visited your inn. I'll be stopping by later tonight" He said in a deep voice while leaning against the gate piller. Alawion simple nodded and headed pass the gate. as I looked around everyone seem to ignore or was use to seeing those creatures.

Walking the streets the crowd of people moving about was far more then this morning but Some did move away from us. It seemed that their were some people that didn't like the creatures that had been summoned. Some were even giving us side eyes while some mothers were hiding their children behind them. Not surprising it was mostly Nord's that were doing that.

As we reach the Inn tavern Alawion didn't head straight inside but took towards the back. Well since I didn't have anything else planned at the moment I followed. Walking passed the well I watched her walk towards what seemed like a stone wall. She reached up her hand and placed it somewhere on the wall. I couldn't really see where but a bit after that a part of the stone floor pulled towards the building revealing a stair case down.

"Well how about I teach you how to butcher and skin a creature" Alawion said while motioning down stairs. I have got to be crazy as I inhale, walking towards her and headed down. what surprised me was that we were in the storage room under the kitchen. As Alawion and those creatures walked in behind me I could see why this place had so much height space now.

"Alright come here and give me a hand" Alawion said as she was getting into position to push a stack of crates away from the wall. Moving to help her we grabbed the corner from the same side and pushed. Truthfully I could have done it alone if I had shifted, plus it wasn't as heavy as that stone pillar I had to move when I first arrived on this world.

As we pushed I could hear the sounds of chains and after we moved the crates I could see said chains. It was a group of chains hanging from the ceiling.

"Alright grabbed the hocked ones, now look here see this part between the the legs" She pointed towards the deer's leg as the creature held it up. " Stick it through there and each leg" The creature moved closer and I did as I was instructed.

there wasn't much blood as she hocked each leg, and the creature released it hold on the animal. Now it hung there around my chest heigh on the wall.

"Nicely done now could you do me a favor and go get Arnovai, as I had promised to teach the cub as well." Alawion said as she moved towards the root door. Stopping to turn and look at me, "Well go on".

it seemed that she would be waiting for me to head up first. Just what was behind that door and why did they have a hidden entrance. These thoughts when through my mind as I climbed the ladder and went looking for Arnovai.

"Oh lass how was it?" A male voice said as i passed the door into the tavern. As I turned to look at Gersg who was leaning on the counter giving me a soft smile. Shit this family and being so pretty I thought as my cheeks turned a bit redder.

"It was fun" I said choosing to keep the fact of the troll hidden for now. "I ...um... you wouldn't happen to know where Arnovai is?" It was hard to speak while looking at him, causing me to look elsewhere. The tables were full as people were laughing, drinking and over all having a good time.

Clearing his throat he managed to grab my attention and simple pointed to the corner where she currently was talking with a group of people. These people were dressed in light brown leather armor and were in the darker part of the tavern. That armor was familiar to me but I just couldn't put my finger on why.

One of the masked individuals seemed to notice me looking at them and motioned towards the young girl. Who turned and saw me, smiling she gave me a wave. and I waved back as I was about to head over.

"Just wait she's almost done, besides I've been meaning to give you this" He said causing me to look back towards him. in his hand he held a small sack.

Slightly turning my head I reached for the sack, grabbing it I bring it closer and opened it. There was around 20 septims, a smile growing on my face as I looked up and as I was about to speak something appeared before my eyes.

STORE UNLOCKED

"Thank you" I said honestly happy and giving my best smile. He nodded" Just a question, what did my mother call you?" this caused confusion that was clear on my face. " Sapling or cub?"

"oh Sapling though I'm not sure what she means by it" I said now curious. "It's nothing to worry about" he said with a chuckle. As I was about to ask why.

Arnovai arrived and explained that strange groups meal order. "Right I was sent to grab you as it was time for or lessons." I said motioning towards the back. Arnovai looked confused for a bit then it seemed to dawn on her "Right butchering" she said as she headed towards the back. Other girls moving towards the counter and telling him the orders. Must be other staff it seemed.

As I walked back towards the kitchen I held the pouch in my hand as it suddenly vanished.

Septims (20)

Seemed like the storage was working properly I though as I headed down. After turning away from the ladder I saw that the trolls corpse was also hanging off the wall and that the creatures were gone. And that a small table was now in the center of the room. and that many bone and obsidian type tools were neatly placed on it.

"Alright let's get this underway, first....."

Many hours later

They had separate what could be eaten and what couldn't. what couldn't would be used to fertilize a small garden in the back of the tavern. Looking at the buckets full of ether meat or intestines with the skins and bones placed into the open creates.

"Nicely done, if either of you two are interested I could teach you how to use these and turn them into useful tools." Alawion said while I pointing to the bones and skins.

That was something that would definitely help me out in the future and if not it wouldn't hurt to have the skill set.

"I'd love to learn" Me and Arnovais said at the same time causing all of us to laugh. heading back upstairs as we were dismissed me and Arnovai just chatted about our day.

I had told her about the hunt and she laughed at how I had missed so many shot. this causing me to be embarrassed, after a bit the smell was starting to bother me, and I offered to get us each a bucket of warm water to get clean.

Once I came back to the room I helped her wash and she helped me. once cleaned up we went to get some food and there was Alawion already finishing cooking. As we sat down to it it kind of felt like a family to me.

After dinner I headed straight for bed, today had been so exhausting. Having to fun after the deer for what felt like a hour. and as she closed her eyes.
