He pulled out from his pink pocket a golden wristwatch, similar to ones his father liked to wear.

"A watch? That's all?"

"It's not just a watch, silly. Its name is Avrevm Horologivm." He extended it to her. "Put it on. Try it out."

Vanilla, inquisitive yet curious, did as he said. She wrapped the golden jewel on her left wrist and tightened it well with its golden buckle.

"Now what? I'll see the hour wherever I go or something?"

The man sighed and put his palm on his face, but his condescending mannerisms didn't affect Vanilla anymore.
