Like a fresh air.

"I almost bumped into her before, before she ran right through me." Oliver said softly.

"Well, what is she like?" I asked him.

"I don't know, last time I saw her, it was almost seven years ago" He trailed off, while my eyes widened. He saw my face and chuckled at my expression. "Your eyes are too wide, you look like a cartoon."

"Seven years? Isn't it too long?" I asked him, unable to make any sense out of this.

"Yes, but I was undercover for five years remember? And I'm about to approach my two year death anniversary."He shrugged.

"It sounds so long, but maybe it doesn't feel like it?" He nodded at me.

"I remember when I met her, I just moved to a new place, starting my new job. Even though I was anxious about my first day, I was super excited as well.

It was my first case, my reputation was at stake, and it was getting much more complicated that I imagined it would be. I was stuck at one point, and I was worried I was going to fail. Then I met her, she was a intern journalist who was interested in my case. At first I was reluctant, but as I let her in, she helped me solve my case. She did not come up with clues or anything, she just simply helped me clear my head, and see it from a better perspective. I was suffocated by my case, and she came to me like a fresh air"

"She sounds wonderful." I smiled sadly. "What's her name?" I asked him

"Lucy" He cleared his throat. "She started to annoy me a lot ever since then. She always approached me for interesting cases, which led us to having to spend a lot of time together. And before I realised, I was in love with her.

When I proposed to her and she accepted it, that was probably on of my happiest moments. Alas, as the saying goes, happiness does not last forever.

Not long after, I was offered this case which was supposed to be an undercover case for a year or so. It was like getting a dream job, but I did not want to jeopardize our relationship.

She was the one who motivated me to take this ofter, convinced me that we will be okay. That our relationship was strong enough to survive this tiny separation. At first I could still communicate with her, even though in a very cryptic manner. But the longer I stayed, the deeper I got into their organisation. The tougher it got for me to communicate with the force, let alone with Lucy.

And just like that our tiny separation turned into years, eventually leading me to my death. I always imagined coming back to her. I was not that close with my family, which is one of my biggest regret, but she was my home. The only thing that kept me sane, in that insane environment was hope, that I will get to see her again. But fate had different plans." He finished his story and looked down, as if he was about to tear up. He took a deep breath and gave me a sad smile.

"She must have been devastated when she found out you died..." I stated softly

"She doesn't even know I am dead." He snorted.

"What?"My eyes widened at that a bit.

"Yeah, I have been declared missing, and since my case was highly classified, no one was informed about anything related to me." He sighed. "You are not the only one whose family doesn't know she is dead." He laid back in his chair and he took a deep breath.

"At least yours didn't replace you with someone else." I shrugged.

"Lucy has been married for two years now." I looked at him again. "At least your husband did not replace you by choice."

I was out if words. I did not know how to comfort him anymore. It was weird how different and similar our situations were at the same time, maybe that's why he was so adamant to help me.

"Well looks like we are dead and forgotten, as they say" I shrugged.

"Eventually everyone is... It's just that.." He trailed off.

"...Our eventually arrived to soon." I finished for him.

"Yeah, it sucks to see your family, people you cared about cry, mourn your death, while you can do nothing but see them suffer." He smirked. "But it sucks even more when no one gives a Damn about your death."

"Well, let us change that then." I say loudly this time.

"What?"

"If I tell you I will do everything in my power to let my family know that I am dead, what will you do?" I ask him

"Nothing?...Maybe I will help you, I guess?" He shrugged and furrowed his eyebrows

"Then let's do the same thing for both of us." I shrugged.

"How??" He looked at me as if I have gone crazy. "She has already moved on, it doesn't matter whether or not I am dead." He explained me.

"Well it matters to you." I sighed. "Look me in the eye and tell me, you don't care at all when or why she moved on. Was it because of the distance... or something else." I shrugged.

"No!" He said "...Maybe. I don't know, what difference does it make? Nothing good will come out of this anyway. Whatever her reason was, it's not like I can be with her now. At least she is happy this way." He tried to convince me.

"Well, you will get a closure. All of us are already dead, yet we are reluctant to leave this world. Why? Because we lack closure. Have you ever seen an old ghost? Don't old people die the most? But most of them die with closure." I presented my opinion, trying to convince him like I was some expert on death.

"Or... because they die of natural causes?" He questioned me, like I was missing the most important fact.

"Whatever, don't ruin the moment!!" I pouted, and he rolled his eyes at me. He made me frustrated. Here I was feeling so wise, and he ruined it completely. "Point is, I will help you when the time comes, and not just because I was to repay you for your help, which I definitely want to do, but also because you, Oliver, are my friend." I smiled at him.
