The Untold Chapter

"Sveta, why are you so kind to others? Why are you so good to them, that we felt that they are unworthy of your attention? They are tiny specks in this world, and you already gave them a lot, even costing your own existence. If the other Watchers knew of this, they will be very disappointed. Their very own Keeper, trapped upon the life of mere mortals, watching them, guiding their every step, that she forgot about her very own. You should stop this, Sveta. We cannot let you continue this torment upon yourself. If not, then why would we even be considered as the Keeper's Guides?"

Bustling streets where shops were lines and students went to and fro, Veta looked for her trio friends. And while she walked happily, the students around her were all smiles and cordial, filled with glee that their goddess has somewhat made her way to the Canteens.

"Have you seen my friends?" Veta asked a nearby student after she got off the bridge. She's smiling, not in a bit concerned about the voices she heard just now.

She's used to it, after all. Hearing these voices in that second was only one of the many times she heard them, and she knew that if she ignored them, then she won't be accused of being crazy.

What normal human can hear clear voices that told her things unspoken of in this world? Ever since she was nine, those voices started to pester her, and she can't even do anything about it.

At last, the student she suddenly talked to snapped out of his illusions and stared wide eyed at her.

"Th-they're ---" the student was about to say something when she felt a familiar tap in her back.

"Hey Veta. You can't wait for us in the classroom, can't you? You even walked all the way to this place. Come on. Nix already got her fries," Rhy smirked while pointing to the silent girl near her, munching on her fries.

"Let's go, Veta. The more time you spend outside, the lesser income Rhy will get for your merchandise. The orphanages will get lesser donations, and if you don't want that to happen, then let's get back to the classroom," Kora said while not forgetting about winking at the poor student near them.

The student staggered at his feet after Kora winked at him, his heart beating faster than usual, a sign that he had fallen. More interactions with Kora and he'll be obsessed with the girl.

"Classroom," Nix managed to say before distracting Kora's line of sight by handing a piece of fries. She knew that Kora, when left alone with the other human species, would be highly dangerous, even to both sexes.

"Hmm. Thanks!" Kora answered and grabbed that piece from Nix's fingers and ate it.

Watching this simple conversation between her very close friends, Veta can't stop herself from answering back to the voices inside her head. She smiled, looked at the sky, before turning her gaze to the bustling crowd.

"For you, they are not worthy. But for me, these tiny specks gave life to everything. They gave color to this dull world, painting every inch with brightness, saving us from the darkness of loneliness. They make life exciting. The memories they create to every adventure they experienced together was enough for one to smile, to be happy, and to laugh. This world is nothing without them. And without them, there is no point to existence. They are the definition of everything. And I will give up anything in this world just to keep them with me," she began to be teary as she spoke those lines from her heart, not even minding that her friends stopped their conversation and blinked their eyes at her, not sure what to do.

"Uhmm, Veta? I don't know that we value that much to you. Come, let us sell everything we have to donate to the orphanages. Don't worry about money. Just be yourself. We'll earn more if you're like that. Man, I should have recorded your speech! It'll be a hit!" Rhy broke her momentary lapse of judgement as the girl wiped some illusionary tears.

"I never knew that our school goddess can be so deep. Applaud. You'll win the school category in the next Meet of Talents if you practice this more," Kora shook her head as she dispelled some unnecessary thoughts. She's being naughty. Super naughty.

"I almost cried. <Yawn> But unfortunately, I'm too sleepy for it," Nix said, appreciating what Veta said earlier, but she does not look concerned at all because of how she acted, but deep down, those words impacted her, a lot.

"After years of indulgence, you finally answered back to us. An improvement. Your ability seemed to grow which is a good sign. However, the time given to you is almost up. By the day that that comes, you'll have no choice but to really give up everything, even them. Memories are meant to gradually deteriorate, until none are left. The light and the dark were meant to clash. Life and death is a cycle which none can get out of, and getting out of that cycle means the end of existence. Everything was given, and it can be taken away. You don't own anything, so how can you give up something you never owned in the first place? Getting involved in the cycle was a mistake. This is pure torture. When the time is up, you'll return to where you really belong to, Sveta. We'll be guiding you this time, not to be led astray by another being once more," the voices once again said before disappearing at the deeps of her mind.

"Let's just go back to the classroom. Don't mind my blabberings. My, my, it's so hot in here. How do the other students fare in this weather? Maybe we can get someone to make shades to block the heat of the sun. I'm thinking that we can create another project that can help the student body of the school," and with those sentences, Veta was once again back to her usual self, blabbering about her projects of how to make the student body comfortable with studying in this school.

Perhaps, this might be the real her to others, taking very good care of others, selfless, and dedicated. But deep within, this goddess of theirs, is a great and boundless entity, who chose to be like this, to enter the cycle of happiness and suffering.

She made this choice to learn what the meaning of existence is, and to know the wonders of it.

This chapter wasn't meant exactly for this story, but I decided to include this since it'll still coincide with my future works.

Welp, here's the chapter of the day.
