His Cure Leading to Her Oblivion

Heraleen's eyes doubled in size as the flow of her blood started to quicken its pace. On her dress, her grip tightened, not expecting the Dominion's answer about her son's curse.

"What?"

With just one word, it was obvious that even the almighty Seraphim was shaken by the information shared to her. Ivar also sensed the uncertainty and shock in her voice, making him worry more about their master.

Heraleen showing this reaction is worrisome for she was the only person who knew how the curse is and how to end it.

Ivar did not wait furthermore for her to speak so he just spoke about the situation that had happened on Earth.

"We were exploring the country for 18 years, Milady, in search for answers. We found out that he shouldn't eat the souls of mortals by force for it will weaken him.

"What we did was for him to drink blood, but it won't satisfy him either. It just kept him sane as he abstained from eating souls," he said, and Heraleen nodded slowly, understanding him since she knew the curse well.

"And about the human girl my son saved... what was that about, Dominion Ivar," the Seraphim asked, not wanting to waste time anymore as her curiosity grew every second.

"Devin—young master, distanced himself from her and her grandfather the first two years she grew in the mansion. Then we were away from the mansion for 18 years, in search for answers. But when we came home, he suddenly started becoming unstable."

When Heraleen heard this, her gaze turned serious.

"He ate a soul, hadn't he," she asked and Ivar shook his head then explained.

"On the eve of our return, he did not. He just drank blood of criminals we hunted," he answered and this made Heraleen nod.

"Then it was because he still craved for human souls," she commented but Ivar shook his head again, seeming to disagree.

"I thought of that, too... but it appears not to be the case," he started, making the Seraphim raise a brow at him. "When he met the human girl's eyes, he became unstable."

When she heard this, her eyebrow twitched. She closed her hands into tight fists again, almost turning her knuckles white. She sighed slowly, calming herself down, then spoke, trying her best to conceal her worry.

"What happened to the human girl?"

"Well," Ivar trailed off then he continued speaking. "He tried his best not to harm her and her grandfather. Edwin and I faced the young master and fed him three souls, Milady," he added, answering her question and this made the Seraphim feel slightly at ease.

The human girl and her grandfather is spared.

"Did this happen again," Heraleen asked briefly, which made Ivar nod, knowing that their conversation is going to a direction.

"When Devin—I mean the young master, approached Angeal, he suddenly became unstable. It was difficult for us to hold him down because he started eating one soul a day, making him regain his true strength," Ivar answered and this made the Seraphim bite her lip.

"By chance... was my son halted by the human girl?"

When Ivar heard her question, he couldn't help but feel surprised. His eyes widened as he covered his mouth, suppressing his amusement.

Obviously, their Excellency knew something is up!

Seeing the Dominion's reaction, it was enough answer for the almighty Seraphim. She sighed then she bit her lip more, slightly feeling nervous.

Ivar noticed that their potential Almighty is uneasy. He knew that he had to speak more, to get more information from their Excellency.

"He mellowed down when he had the girl in his arms. For some reason, when the human girl held his face, it made him stable. And then for some reason, he slept... even disappearing magically in front of us, just to embrace her in his sleep!"

Heraleen raised her brow when she heard the excitement in Ivar's voice. She smiled slightly, finding his tone amusing and entertaining at the same time.

Having their Highness' gaze on him made Ivar realize that his tone and way of speaking to their powerful Seraphim seemed like he was talking to an angel of equal rank. This made Ivar cough, feeling awkward.

"I am sorry, Your Highness," he apologized and Heraleen just giggled, brushing it off.

"It is fine, Dominion," she said, lightening up the mood. "Is that all you have to say," she asked, making Ivar focus on the topic at hand again.

"I tried doing an experiment, Milady," he answered, getting the Seraphim's full attention. "I revealed the purple rose, Devin's representation of life, to the human girl," he added and Heraleen interrupted him, knowing where this is going.

"The rose's petals stopped falling, but rather... it is coming back to life, isn't it."

When Ivar heard this, he nodded enthusiastically.

"Yes, Milady! Since I saw the change that had happened, I directly came here, seeking for answers, Milady," he said, his voice now sounding serious as he asked a question. "Is the human girl in any way, involved in reversing his curse?"

The Seraphim's lips turned into a tight line as she kept silent for a few seconds after hearing Ivar's question. She started looking at the window beside her, overlooking their paradise full of angels doing their respective work.

Heraleen didn't expect for this to happen after a hundred years. She knew that her son saved a human girl and had made the old man sell their souls to him but she didn't expect that after all these years... the answer to his curse's end is right under his roof after all.

She overlooked this. Now the almighty Seraphim realized that fate is playing with her son's and the innocent girl's life.

"Your Majesty?"

Ivar called her attention, making Heraleen look back at him. Her knuckles turned white as she gripped the cloth of her dress once more, attempting to calm herself down.

'It is happening...'

She sighed, shaking herself from her thoughts then spoke, planting more curiosity in the mind of the Dominion.

"Watch over them, Ivar. She is his cure leading to her oblivion."
