A distorted voice

Su Zui awaited the return of his servants. But instead what came to him was a sharp shift in the air that left a distinct feeling of vertigo. It came so quickly that the snake demon hadn't at all the chance to react.

He merely snapped his head and could tell immediately that there was something thick about the air.

And then it snatched him. Unseen needle-like tendrils worked its way under his clothes and peeled under his skin. It sank in. A dozen, maybe three, maybe more, weaving its way into his flesh with jagged edges. In his arms, his shoulders, his ribs, belly and legs.

By some miracle, or perhaps simply a seer blazing will to survive made him move fast enough to clasped onto whatever monstrosity that speared for his delicate neck. Su Zui screamed, his body instantly overloaded with an absurd amount of pain, making his mind go completely numb.

The skin on his palm was ripped apart as well as the thin, needling tendrils lifted him off his feet.
