The Old Chief (II)

 The celebration of birth in Kingdom Animalia was the lamest event that Liam had ever attended in her three lives.

Since the old chief came, the room turned silent and all attention was on him.

At first, because of Liam's first impression that this old man was someone profound and not an easy opponent, she intently listened to his speech and she was solemn throughout. 

However, when the old chief, the only speaker in the room, thanked his every ancestor, recited a series of prayers, and even told them useless myths, Liam gave up on listening.

The old chief gave a long- way too long- speech that Liam wondered when this old man would choke on his own saliva.

Finally, Ajaven whose face was entirely black could not help but raised her hand to interrupt.
