It is obvious that not all daemons are usable in combat, a third of the Ogres can fight, and only a quarter of Pixies had the ability to even wield a weapon.
The Combat Pixies were a minority, most of the newly evolved Pixies were either Praeries which made them sound like some kind of landscape variation, but no, these Praeries are Pixies not fit to become combatants but is very good at assisting the horde.
Those who evolved like so wouldn't have any more chances of becoming a Legend Tier unless a major event happens and triggers something that will cause them to either level up quickly and receive LE in great abundance or if they mutate into a Greater Variant.
Mutation does not happen often but when it does, those who benefit from it would become stronger.
The citizens of Lilith's village have their own specializations, and they provide support in their own ways. And even though they are still in a state of infancy in terms of developing a true society of daemons, there were already groups standing out from the rest.
There are three groups in Lilith's forces that she herself established so a goal and minor segregation amongst the different kinds of daemons would form.
[The Army]: led by Chief and the strongest daemons like Killa, the Contriving Pixie Muska, they are the ones who protect the citizens and also the ones who go out to wage war against the invaders.
The Army was the group where most of the powerful youths go to and those who evolve to combat-oriented daemons would go to the future. Because daemon evolution coincides with one's desire and behavior, no one complains about how hard things go.
In this group, no one cares if one is a woman or a man. if one is strong then someone would be able to lead. But at the moment, Chief leads everyone, none complains because not only is Chief's power perpetually increasing, even his intelligence is going up a tier.
Though his form remains the same, his overall self is becoming overall better. His pride no longer clouds most of his decisions thus granting Lilith control over him whose internal self tells him to lead the Village in a better direction.
In The Army, there are talks about Lilith, their Great Priestess who's treated as the leader of the village plans on challenging Chief and claim the title of strongest.
Chief was asked about this by Killa one night and it was said that Chief laughed for an hour.
He then went on to sharpen his bone sword until the next sunrise.
The second group would be [The Workers].
Mostly comprised of Praeries, some Ogre variants, and some female Werewolves. They give support by building houses, cooking food for the whole village, weaving clothes, and as of this moment, they are establishing a water channel for farming and drinking water.
Lilith didn't even need to do much as these workers even procured the materials to create the tools they need. Though it was not as sophisticated as she would like.
The only thing missing is a wok and a pot for the cooks and the workers would be considered much more advance than [The Army]. It was a shame but the working group has no means to procure metal so they can't start creating more.
Lilith doesn't look down upon these cooks because every night when food comes to her in a leaf plate, she can tell that they are improving as they now different herbs. She doesn't even know what herbs they are using but holy shit was she satisfied with the taste.
Currently, there's no such thing as a leader amongst them because Lilith has yet to name one, but oddly enough they are going around functioning without a problem.
The third group is none other than the [Shadow Troop].
A minority of all three groups; yet still commands respect that matches The Army. The reason for this was because they are under Lilith's direct commands.
They are her eyes and ears that go to the most dangerous of missions. They both scout and fight and they are currently led by the Master of the village, Dhampy, and in the eyes of everyone, if Chief was just twenty levels higher than Dhampy and not the current gorge, Dhampy would mop the floor with Chief.
But not everyone can get into the Shadow Troops because the screening process was handled by Dhampy and she knows the gravity of the situation. She does not simply accept anyone to join her ranks she divides them into trainees who needs training and the actual members who could follow commands and execute them flawlessly.
There's also the class appropriation so many is disappointed. Getting an espionage suited evolutionary trait was hard for the Ogres and the others.
This troop can be considered as the Elites, they are organized, professionals, and most importantly the source of Lilith-related gossips gathered by the Vice-Leader Eve herself.
One could already see why they are so beloved.
However, what others didn't know is that at this moment, there's an unwanted spark going off in the Shadow Troop.
As the moon watched over the Forest of Beasts and the Darkness blanketed everything, movements in the shadow grew more prominent.
As Sylva was garbed in a dark gold attire, she weaved through the trees and leaving golden carvings on the base of the said trees.
These carvings were one of her skills known as the [Spatial Markings].
This marking was basically a mark for her spatial travel. This marking will last for a long time, and when she uses Marked Teleportation and when used would be unavailable for usage for a month.
Which was honestly impressive considering how she's only a rare-tier.
And considering her loyalty towards Lilith, the loli was understandably already high from happiness just thinking about the application of such a skill. Sylva was now someone who's indispensable to her boss. However, her face was not as beautiful as her marks, for two reasons.
One, because she's moving along the shadows with a baggage.
Two; she can't even get rid of said baggage.
As for who that baggage was, it could only be the target of her undying hatred and conflicted emotion, Luna.
Stopping on top of a thick branch, Luna noticed something beyond the darkness,
"Sister, I can feel movement North East of us. There is a total of three humans going on a patrol, what should we do?"
Sylva didn't look at Luna and just looked around before coming to a decision, "We're keeping watch for the next fifteen minutes and learn their routes. We will map them out, the boss head needs information as detailed as possible also, don't call me sister."
Luna waved her hand, three glittering azure lights appeared from her. The three lights scattered up and then exploded into an almost invisible light particle.
This light flew with the wind and scattered and covered a two-hundred-meter radius area with Luna as the center. She could see the surrounding area as if it was day and the incoming information from the moving humans entered her mind.
"Moon Guide." Her pupils changed to the color of the moon, a desolate silver, as she called upon its guidance.
The information consisted of every physical change in that two-hundred-meter area. The movement of leaves that dances with the wind; the weeds getting trampled by the humans' steps and the slow recovery of their form, everything entered her mind and despite the continuous flow of information, she felt no discomfort whatsoever.
The information was filtered and the filtered information would then be filtered some more until only the barest and most important information remain. She sat on the tree branch as she demanded, "The brush pen and the pelt?"
Sylva moved her hand and grabbed something from empty space and when she retrieved her hands from empty space there were already a brush pen and a pelt that had been scribbled upon.
Sylva handed it over to Luna who began writing on it.
As she detailed the area, she began to speak.
"Do you hate me, sister?"
"Yes, and I told you not to call me sister."
Luna's hands didn't stop even when she was talking. And their whisper-like words were soft enough that none of the humans could hear them. So, Luna continued…
"Then do you hate our parents?"
"I have no parents, only people who abandoned me and had me prepared to become the sacrifice for other Pixies."
"Even if I tell you that the woman who gave birth to you lost her life after pleading to have you raised together with me? She went to our father you know, to the Pixie Lord crying and pleading, but died under his hands."
Sylva turned to the Luna and with a passive voice, she spoke…
"And I should care why? She's not someone I should care about, but if it means anything to you, after hearing your words about her, I can tell you that she's the only one I respect. Other than that, I can feel nothing else."
"You asked why you should care but I have no answer. I just thought you ought to know so that you will not condemn every Pixie. I will die by your hands, I will not run from this fate, and to uphold my duties, I just want you to learn sympathy towards those below me, those I am meant to protect. My duty is to keep them alive, and when you kill me, please let that be the end."
Snorting, Sylva silently laughed!
"What do you want? We are both young and we are from the same womb but the two of us are different, I never received any teachings about complicated matters neither have I received anything from the Pixies. The Pixies taught me one thing, and one thing alone, to accept fate and die for them so that they can thrive. They told me it is for the sake of the Race, but I questioned myself, are we not from the same race? I may be a variant, yet I stem from their lineage. So, why? Why are my kind treated like cattle to be slaughtered? Unlike you who lived not fearing for death, I lived with nothing but thoughts of when I will die.
"The Pixies also took my eye as they broke my limbs; I have every reason to hate you and your dirty race but do not worry, I will not kill them all because that is the desire of the one who saved me. Because unlike the Pixies who are supposed to care about their 'Kin' but sacrifices and condemn those different than them, she is someone who saved me even when she didn't know who I was.
"The Pixies are not my Kin, but the boss head and big sis Dhampy is. I will hate you guys but I will do nothing to kill those the boss head saved, but you, you're different, I will kill you for my sake and Sela's so that her soul can finally be put to rest."
Luna finished her drawings and stood up. She handed the brush pen and pelt to Sylva for safekeeping and with a smile, she bowed her head…
"Thank you."
The surveying of Section 8 lasted until midnight, and as Sylva traveled with Luna more, she bit her lips as if she was in pain.
