Did you miss me?

Arriving at his place, Ye Shuxin was brought to Yanyan's room.

"Yanyan, are you here?" Ye Shuxin asked softly as she knocked.

No response.

She tried to turn the knob but it was locked. She looked at Jin Mingze, "It's locked."

Locked? He sighed heavily.

He turned to Haofan, the butler. "Where is the key?"

"It's..." Haofan gulped nervously. "The young miss went out earlier and took it inside with her."

That brat!

Jin Mingze massaged the bridge of his nose as if trying to calm himself from breaking down the door. "Jin Yan, come out. Ye Shuxin is here."

A few minutes later, they still didn't hear anything or felt any motion inside.

Jin Mingze glaring icily at the door and because of the tension building up between him and the door, Haofan quietly left to escape, leaving Ye Shuxin there.

She wanted to walk away as well since Jin Mingze was still scary for her.

Despite wanting to leave, she also wanted to see Yanyan so she didn't have a choice but to stay.

"Move." She took her hairpin and used it to unlock the door.

They were both worried so the moment Ye Shuxin opened the door, their eyes instantly moved around the room to look for that little girl.

Their gaze stopped at the small figure on the bed, enjoying strawberries that were inside a plastic container.

Her plump lips were tinted red and so was her small hands because of the strawberries. She was too consumed on eating the sweet strawberries that she didn't notice the couple that was standing by the door.

Ye Shuxin: "..."

Jin Mingze: "..."

Ye Shuxin turned to Jin Mingze, "She looks like she's eating well..."

No wonder. No wonder Yanyan didn't mind starving herself earlier. It was all because she planned things out well and kept a container of strawberries in her room.

It looked like Jin Mingze was played by his daughter. She was definitely not giving a face to her father.

He cleared his throat as if trying to get Yanyan's attention which he successfully did.

"Mommy!"

The little girl's face brightened up upon seeing her. Her eyes sparkled in delight and because of her excitement, she jumped out of the bed and rushed to Ye Shuxin and hugged her leg. "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy's home!"

The woman she addressed as 'mommy' ended up smiling helplessly at the small girl.

If she was going to be greeted by this small bunny every day, no matter how tiring her day was, she was sure that all her tiredness would fade from her body.

"Yeah, I'm home." She leaned down to her level and patted Yanyan's head. "Did you miss me?"

"Yes! Yanyan missed mommy so so sooo much!" Yanyan released her leg and raised her messy hands to her mother, wanting to be carried.

Ye Shuxin took her handkerchief out of her pocket and wiped the child's hands clean. She also wiped her mouth and while she was doing so, Yanyan was patiently raising her hands to her, still wanted to be carried.

Ye Shuxin didn't have a choice but to carry her in her arms. Well, it's not like she didn't want it. Hugging the small soft bunny in her arms wasn't that bad.

"Mommy..." Yanyan hugged her by her neck, resting her soft cheek on her mother's cheek.

Jin Mingze cleared his throat once again while he was gazing down at his daughter.

But his daughter acted as if she didn't hear him since she knew her fault. This only made Ye Shuxin chuckled.

Look like she became his daughter's new favorite and because of that Jin Mingze ended up frowning deeply.

Just like Yanyan, he was ignored by Ye Shuxin as well.

"I heard that you haven't eaten your dinner yet, sweetie." She looked at the plastic container that was on Yanyan's bed. "But it looks like you've been eating strawberries..."

"No! No! Yanyan is still hungry, mommy. Let's eat. Let's eat dinner together!"

And so, the poor man, Jin Mingze, was left alone by the two.
