Hey.. Mister!

"She is only suffering from food poisoning, she'll be fine soon." The doctor said to Jinhai who was fawning worriedly over Shan who was lying on the hospital bed still looking pale.

"Alright, thank you." He said to the doctor who then left the both of them inside the private ward.

"Feeling better?" He asked her with a concerned frown as he held her hands in his despite her silent resistance.

Shan nodded gently. "Really better, thanks" She said to him with a forced appreciative smile.

"You look… nice. Did you go out?" Shan asked taking note of his appearance for the first time that evening. She had been too ill to observe anything else.

"Oh.. yes. I came here from an occasion." He told her with a small smile.

"What about Vice President Wang?"

He smiled brightly before informing her.. "He should be with Lijuan by now."

"Lijuan?" She asked in surprise. "What is he doing with her? How did he know where she was?" She asked curiously.

"Well.. I told him." Jinhai said with an apologetic smile. He didn't want to give her the impression that he couldn't keep secrets. But she never said it was supposed to be a secret after all, right?

"Wow!" She exclaimed with a smile. She had been able to make up her mind about how she felt about Yun. She could tell he was a really nice guy who genuinely liked Lijuan and she was eager to see things work between them.

"Are you thinking what I am thinking?" She asked with a naughty smile.

"Maybe." He said with a grin before winking at her, making then both chuckle.

"I guess I made you miss your party. Sorry about it." Shan said with an apologetic smile once they stopped chuckling. She was really thankful he had come over to take her to the hospital.

"It was boring anyway. Let's just say you saved me from it. So maybe I should be thanking you." Jinhai said with a cheerful smile.

"What do you think they'll be doing?" Shan asked in excitement as she thought of Yun and Lijuan alone.

"Knowing my brother, he will probably be trying hard to get her to return since you mentioned her family isn't aware she is there." Jinhai said with a grin.

"And knowing Lijuan she won't budge. Lijuan is definitely going to win." Shan said giggling happily.

As the Auctioneer continued with the long queue of items that were up for sale that night , Lijuan's patience kept wearing thinner by the minute.

Yun on the other hand had begun to question  himself as to the wisdom of driving all that distance to an auction he had no business attending. What was suddenly wrong with him?

Just when Lijuan thought the auction was getting to the point where she would finally  place her bid, the Auctioneer made an announcement saying there was going to be a brief interlude.

"Oh God!" Lijuan could not help but look to the heavens and ask God why she was being punished in that manner. Of all times to take a break why couldn't they just do so after the sales of the necklace?

Yun watched as she shifted in her seat uncomfortably.

"I really don't think they are going to auction the necklace anytime soon. We really should leave now." He said to her in a soft whisper.

"You can leave if you want to, we didn't come together anyway." Lijuan snapped at him nervously even though she hoped he wouldn't leave her. At least he was here with his car and would get her home safely since they lived in the same estate.

She had spent a lot of time there already and it didn't make much sense to her if she was to just leave without getting what she had come for.

Yun continued to watch her closely. He still couldn't understand why he was there nor why he was trying so hard to help her out especially when she was being so damn stubborn and ungrateful. He had even agreed to help pay a whooping sum of forty thousand dollars for a bag! A very ugly bag at that!

He reminded himself it was a birthday gift to her even though they both didn't like it.

Lijuan noticed Yang Lei walking towards the door and hurriedly excused herself to follow him.

"Where are you going to?" Yun asked in a whisper.

"I'll be back in five." She said before walking out noisily.

They had introduced Yang Lei earlier as the Chairman's grandson so she knew he probably had some kind of influence there.

"Hey.. Mister!" She called as she ran after him.

"What is it?" He asked with a frown. Their encounter earlier still embarrassed him plus he still remembered how she had almost ruined everything before the event started and also how she had almost caused confusion by bidding for the wrong item.

"I'm Mei Lijuan." She quickly introduced herself.

"What am I supposed to do with that? Does your fiance know you're out here talking to me?" He asked with a smirk as he looked her up and down again. She seemed to look even prettier from up close. He concluded.

"I just wanted to know how much longer I have to sit down there listening to those boring details. Since you're such an important figure here, can't you have them hurry things up a little? Please?" She asked with a smile, choosing to ignore his arrogance.

He noticed how nervous she looked and shrugged his shoulders.

"Because you asked so nicely I'll see what I can do." Yang Lei said before strolling away.

Asked nicely? Lijuan repeated with a scoff before rolling her eyes. When she turned around, she noticed Yun was standing behind.

He had been a bit worried knowing she was moving about alone. He didn't want her to het into trouble since her bodyguard wasn't with her.

"Why are you standing here?" She asked in surprise and noticed his eyes was still fixed on Yang Lei's back.

"I was trying to hurry things up a bit. I can't just sit here all night listening to boring talks about people who died centuries ago." Lijuan quickly explained and began to wonder why she was explaining things to him.

He looked at her with a straight face and shrugged his shoulders indifferently. "You should make up your mind whether we are going inside or going home"

"Inside. Definitely inside!" She said with a firm nod as she began to head towards the door. She had about 45mins more to spare.

"Don't this music end?" Lijuan asked with a sad frown once they returned to their seats and the band was still playing.

"It's about to." Yun assured her as he crossed his arm.

Yang Lei who was standing at one end of the room trying to ensure everything was running smoothly nodded to the Auctioneer to get her attention but she seemed a little bit distracted.

Just then he turned in time to see two ushers who were among the catering crew having a chit chat at the other end of the hall and he stealthily moved towards them.

"If you were paid to talk, you would have been on that stage and not here." He told them in a whisper making them gasp in surprise at being caught gossiping.

Slightly frightened by the stern look on his face they scurried off to continue with their duties.

He watched them hurry off and smiled. It was nice being a boss after all.

Few minutes later the music band stopped playing and the Auctioneer returned to the stage. She was holding an envelope which contained the information on the next item to be auctioned.

"The next item on our list tonight is the Diamond Bracelet of the Famous Amazon Quuen of Country B in year 1800.  Just as she was about to give a brief history of the how the Amazon Queen earned the bracelet, Yang Lei quickly gave a circulatory hand movement  signaling her to hasten up because he was already fed up with the long talks.

He just wanted  to be done with the night and finally get back into his luxurious apartment  which his grandfather has banned him from  entering.

Lijuan who happened to have seen how he was signaling the Auctioneer muttered to herself in a low tone "He finally does something right since he crossed my path."

Although she wasn't happy with the turn of events, she was glad he was at least making them hurry up because she asked him to.

'They must really put their customers first' She concluded.

At that moment, he also looked at her direction and their eyes locked. She flashed him a smile that made him frown and turn his face away.

He thought she was shameless for flirting with him when her fiance was sitting just beside her.... but he began to wonder why her fiance looked kind of familiar.
