From a fan

By the time Lijuan returned to the room, she saw Shan was already sitting on the bed with a confused frown on her face but the moment she saw Lijuan, she jumped in shock... almost wondering who that was until she heard Lijuan's voice asking her how she was feeling, she sighed in relief.

"Oh God! Thank goodness you are here... where are we?" She asked while touching her head which was banging.

"Wang Yun's house." Lijuan said as she began to pace around uncomfortably.

"Wang Yun's house!?" She asked in shock.

"How did we get here?"

"You also can't remember?" Lijuan asked her. She had expected Shan to at least remember a thing or two but it seemed she had been equally really drunk.

"Go pee already!" Shan said to Lijuan when she continued marching around one spot, and stood up to adjust her clothes. "Ah.. I'm thirsty."

"I can't pee in a man's house."

"I guess you'd like to pee on 'yourself in a man's house'" Shan said as she began to comb through her hair with her fingers impatiently.

Lijuan looked at the door that led to the bathroom and after a minute's hesitation, she began to head towards the door.

"And while you're at it, check the mirror." Shan called after her before a knock sounded on the door.

Lijuan quickly sat on the toilet bowl and relieved herself. She felt like her bladder was about to burst.

The bathroom was very neat. It looked exactly like hers just that the soaps and shampoos were different.

When she stood up to wash her hands on the sink, she jumped in shock when she came face to face with her reflection.

Her hair was scattered. One word for her would be crazy. Her face was smeared with something black and she could guess it was her mascara. Her lipstick was how extending to the side of her mouth. She looked like she was playing Zombie in a Halloween party.

Her eyes widened as she looked at her face and touched it to be sure it was her. She suddenly remembered talking to Yun by the hallway and closed her eyes while she bit her lower lip and fisted her palms in embarrassment.

She quickly left the bathroom to go scold Shan for not telling her how she looked like instead, almost making her have a heart attack when she saw her face on the mirror.

"Shan how could.....!"

"Jesus Christ!" Jinhai jumped in shock immediately the bathroom door opened and she came out. He was glad he had already dropped the tray of food on the bed else he was sure he would have dropped it on the floor.

Lijuan also jumped when she saw someone else inside the room.

"Hi.." He raised a hand to greet her awkwardly.

"Hi." She also slowly raised a hand and smiled awkwardly before dashing back inside the bathroom.

"I hope my face doesn't look like that?" Shan asked Jinhai.

While Lijuan was in the bathroom, he had come in and so she knew a thing or two about him. He was Yun's younger brother, he lived with him and was here to serve her breakfast while Lijuan's was on the dining downstairs. According to him, she was to eat with Yun since they both had to talk privately.

"Nah.. you look good." Jinhai said with a smile as he sat down on the couch.

She gave him a look that said "Why are you still here?"

He simply shrugged his shoulders and smiled without saying anything.

Lijuan came out of the bathroom looking far better and prettier. Her face was smooth now and her hair was tied at the top of her head. Thankfully, she had found the hairband she had used to tie her hair the previous night inside her skirt pocket.

After Jinhai explained to her that her breakfast was in the kitchen, she excused herself from the room after confirming with Shan that she was okay staying alone with a strange man and head towards the dining while dreading the meeting with Yun. She was still very embarrassed he had seen her looking that way.

"You look better." Yun said when he saw her approaching the dining table. He was already seated and was almost done eating.

Lijuan blushed in embarrassment and said a small "Thanks" she thought it was best to not revisit that issue.

He looked at her, wondering why she was just standing there with her hands in her pocket. His gaze slid to her long legs which was exposed because of her really short outfit she was wearing.

"Oh.. your brother said you asked me to come down for breakfast." She explained uncomfortably when she noticed his eyes was on her legs.

Yun frowned. Jinhai was at it again. When did they have such conversation?

No wonder Jinhai had left one plate down.

He didn't know what else to say so he asked her to sit and served her the food.

"You made this?" She asked when she tasted the food.

"My younger brother did." He answered honestly.

"That's nice. It's rare to see handsome men who are good cooks." She praised with a smile.

Yun scoffed inwardly. 'Wait till you taste my food'

He watched her eat silently before facing his food. She was good looking, he would give her that. Even without wearing make up, she looked really pretty than most ladies he had met.

"I... didn't by chance say or do anything inappropriate last night, did I?" She raised her head to ask him in a low voice.

"Well.. it depends on what you term as 'inappropriate'" He said while folding his arms.

"I.. really did something?" She asked curiously while pointing at herself.

"Hmm.. last night was last night.. let's forget about the past." He said with a small smile.

"C'mon, don't be like that. What did I do?" Lijuan asked unable to hide her curiosity.

Yun glanced at her and decided to toy with her a bit. "You were hyper. You even forcefully gave me a kiss telling me how much you love me. You took advantage of my kindness!" Yun said with a sad face as he placed his hands on his lips.

"What? No no, I didn't do that. I couldn't have done that." Lijuan said with mortification.

"But you did. We can ask Jinhai if you want us to." Yun suggested.

"Oh God! I'm so sorry. I don't remember a thing, I don't even ---" She stopped when she heard Yun chuckling in amusement.

"Relax. I was just kidding, you were as gentle as a dove." Yun assured her while still laughing.

Lijuan heaved a deep sigh of relief before glaring at him. She wanted to throw something at him but it suddenly occured to her that it was the first time she was seeing him laugh, and he did look really handsome.

"You should laugh more often. You look kind of cute." She said making him suddenly feel self conscious.

"Thanks." He muttered politely before taking out his phone. He got busy with it for a bit before showing her the screen. "Here."

Lijuan looked at it and noticed her number was now saved on his phone as 'Mei Lijuan' and no longer 'Pen thief'

She looked at his face and smiled. "Thanks."

Before he could withdraw the phone, a call came in from his mother. His heart skipped a beat when he checked who was calling. She didn't by chance know Lijuan was there, right? He chose to ignore the call and placed the phone back inside his inner pocket.

Lijuan had wanted to ask why he wasn't taking her call but she decided to stay out of it since it wasn't her business.

"You know.. I do like your mother a lot." She said which surprised him.

"My... mother?" He asked skeptically hoping he hadn't heard her correctly.

"Yes.." She answered with a nod. "I do watch some shows and TV programs she was invited to. She talks well and.... there was this show I watched of her where she was advising all those with suicidal thoughts... that speech kind of changed my life and made me feel better." She said with a small smile without raising her head.

Yun didn't know how to feel. If only she knew those people... like his mother, were good at showing the public the part they wanted them to see. If only she knew the woman she admired looked down on her.

"Say hi to her for me.. Tell her it's from a fan."

"Don't count on that. I have to run now." Yun said rising up.

Lijuan couldn't explain the sudden feeling of sadness which came over her when he stood up to leave. She suddenly realized it was because she had been enjoying his company like a very normal person without any mention of her condition or his pen.

She quickly stood up too. "About your pen."

"Just let me know when you find it, no hurry." He cut in before she could finish.

"Enjoy the rest of your day." Yun said before walking out of the house. Lijuan was quite an interesting character. He decided.
