Asking For A Favour Part 2

"Unbelievable." Esai sighed as he sat back down. "She was rather brave to glare at me like that." Calder said in amazement. "... I was talking about you." Esai said as he looked at his brother.

"What did I do?!" Calder shouted. "Stay ignorant you're cuter that way." Esai replied as he averted his gaze. "Big brother." Calder whimpered. "Why did you come to see me?" Esai asked with a pout. "I wanted to ask you for a favour." Calder asked sheepishly.

Esai turned his gaze back to Calder. He stared for a while and soon a warm smile lit up his face. "Anything." He said. Calder was ecstatic but then hesitated. "But you don't even know what I'm going to ask?" Calder said as he furrowed his brows. "Will it put my life in danger?" Esai asked. "Never!" Calder shouted as he stood up.

"Then we're fine." Esai said. "But you might not like it." Calder said as he sat back down. "Oh? Well I'm sure whatever you come up with will be so adorable that I can't help but not to say no." Esai said with a brighter smile.

"I want to go on a double date." Calder said seriously. Esai froze, his smile still held its charm but blood slowly trickled out of the corner. "With whom?" Esai asked slowly as he pulled out a handkerchief and dabbed his mouth. "I don't know." Calder replied then paused. He slipped into deep thought as he crossed his arms over his chest. "With someone you are interested in." He finally said. "I don't like anyone at the moment. So no." Esai replied.

"Oh." Calder said pitifully. Esai's smile shattered. He didn't think that his brother would be so upset for not going on a double date. "Tell me why?" Esai sighed as he made a steeple with his fingers. "I, I don't really know." Calder said as he avoided Esai's gaze. "Really?" Esai said in a low, deadly tone that it caused Calder to break out into a cold sweat.

"I made a mistake and I want to fix it." Calder said with a higher the normal pitch. He really couldn't hide anything from Esai, well except one thing. "What mistake did you make Calder?" Esai asked.

Calder dared himself to look at his brother and when he did he his heart screamed in fear and panic. Esai had a dark, ominous aura surrounding him as his smile looked more like a slit across his face. A smile so chilling that it would best suit a carnivorous monster then a human being.

"I want to take Lady Syria out into the town and show her I'm not a bad guy! That what happened before was all a misunderstanding but I humiliated her and she said she'll never be alone with me again!"

"So now I'm here and if I have to beg I will beg but I really need your help because I don't no what else I can do!" Calder admitted at lighting speed. Esai was shocked. He looked at pale Calder who was quivering on the sofa with tears collecting in the corners of his eyes.

"Is that all?" Esai asked. "What do you mean is that all?! You already said no! How am I going to apologize now?" Calder said in mid hysteria. "Baby brother!" Esai gasped as he covered his mouth with his hand. A small blush touched his cheeks as his eyes sparkled with joy. "Eek." Calder squeaked as he slowly moved back on the sofa.

"You're so cute! Who cares if Lady Syria is misunderstanding you? I was planning to send her and her handmaid back for annoying me anyways. This is a great excuse to make her leave." Esai said with a prince like smile.

"You can't!" Calder shouted. "Why?" Esai asked as he tilted his head in confusion but he never let go of his smile. "She's not annoying me..." Calder said as he drew circles with his index finger on his knee. "Your point? She's misunderstanding you and annoying me, I want her out. It's my palace, I can kick out whomever I want and there is nothing that can change my mind." Esai replied happily.

"Uhm." Calder started to say but then dropped his gaze. "I guess you're right." He continued with a pitiful tone. Unaware of how Esai's body trembled. "B-but I guess since you haven't officially moved into your own Estate yet..." Esai said as he looked like he was contemplating things meticulously but in fact he was just waiting for Calder to respond.

Calder raised his gaze and his eyes shone with hope. Esai clenched his hands, he couldn't take his brother's cuteness. "It's technically, you know the palace is still, you know you're, it's still your home too." Esai said awkwardly, he was trying his coax the answer out of Calder but a bigger part wanted to tease him some more.

"So I have a say too?" Calder asked innocently. That did it, an arrow went through Esai's heart. A fatal blow that made him give up his game. "I have a solution." Esai said as his body trembled with joy.

"How about we all go out for a late dinner, out in the town. We can just take some guards, disguise ourselves as commoners and I'll act as your chaperone. If we go as a group Lady Syria will not be able to refuse the invite and you also get some time with Lady Britille." Esai said.

"That sounds good but can we go in a few days? Lady Syria... need a few days to calm down first." Calder said as he averted his gaze again. Esai looked at Calder suspiciously. "... alright but we still have to have dinner together. I already gave up my time with you at lunch I will not excuse an absence when it comes to dinner. " Esai said.

Calder nodded his head in agreement. He then quickly got up and started to move toward the door.

"Esai?" Calder called out as he faced the door. "Yes?" Esai answered as he picked up the next document. There was a long silence, the air around Calder started to get tense. "... Nothing." Calder said as he clenched his fist.

"Calder?" Esai called out with concern. "It's nothing big brother, I'm gonna go now." Calder said as he flashed Esai a goofy grin. "Thanks again!" He yelled as he rushed out the room.
