Kian looks into my eyes with astonishment and says "You could have disappeared... You should never share your soul with a Dragon. They're powerful and ancient. He could have devoured your entire soul without even trying..." I blink in surprise as I ask "Then what's happened? Why are my eyes and skin like this?"
I turn around to face Kian as he says "You said that you agreed to set him free... he should have left once you were free but he's stayed. I'm not sure but I think... I think the Dragon may be choosing to stay with you but if that were the case... the Dragon would have to go through a rebirth of somekind to be able to coexist together."
He frowns in deep thought before adding "I think the only reason you're still here is because he didn't try to devour you once you shared your soul with him." I raise my eyebrows in surprise and slight worry as he grabs both sides of my face and says "How do you always manage to find trouble? I don't know if you have bad luck or if you're extremely lucky.."
I awkwardly smile as I say "Both... but, I still don't know what this means for me. Why are my eyes shifting like this and why is my skin changing?" Kian looks at me with slight worry as he says "To be honest, I'm not sure. Dragons were rare even in my time. I can try to find out some information but I'm not sure there will be anything that'll help us. Can you talk to the Dragon?"
I try several times to call the Dragon but I get nothing but silence in return. I shake my head and look back to the mirror but my eyes were back to normal. Kian leans down and places a soft kiss on my forehead before saying "I'll be quick."
He steps back and disappears, leaving me standing in the bathroom all alone. I lean against the sink and softly call out "Mom? I could really use your help..." I wait, hoping with everything in me that she's still around and can somehow hear me but just like the Dragon, nothing but silence greets me.
I slowly walk back to the living room where I held my dying mother and sink to my knees. "I need to find this thing... I need to find Dad and Liam... I need to put a stop to this thing before things get worse. I need help..."
Still nothing... I sigh and hang my head as I mumble "Are they even still alive?" Little fluffy black paws come into my line of sight and when I look up, I find Binx watching me with a look of disapproval.
"This is new." He says swishing his tail back and forth behind him. I frown at him and ask "Do you have any better ideas?" He continues to glare at me as he says "Wake up and stop moping around like this! When did you turn into such a little baby?"
I scoff at him and say "What the hell is your deal?" Binx's ears pull back as he bares his teeth at me and says "You! You're my deal. Wake the hell up!" He rears back and lunges straight at me! I lean back and quickly turn but it's not fast enough.
His claws catch the side of my face, shocking me as I look back to him in disbelief. Only, he wasn't there. "BINX!" I yell out in anger and come to my feet. Binx trots down the hall and looks around the corner at me before asking "What?"
I hold my cheek in confusion before asking "What the hell is your problem?" Binx walks into the living room and tilts his head to the side before saying "What's my problem? Are you okay? What happened to your cheek?"
I blink several times in confusion before pulling my hand back and looking down. No blood... nothing. I look back to Binx in utter confusion before walking to the bathroom. I walk to the mirror and see that my face is clear of any marks.
I rub my hands down my face as I look at my reflection in the mirror before me and try to understand what's happening. What the hell just happened? Am I losing my damn mind? Am I finally losing my shit!? Binx stands by the bathroom door and asks "Are you okay?"
I slowly look back to him and nod before saying "I think all this stress is starting to catch up to me..." Binx narrows his eyes at me and says "Riiiight... If you start to lose your shit on me, give me a heads up." Right, cause everyone knows when they're gonna lose their shit...
I give him a strained smile as I subconsciously reach up and touch my cheek. It still hurts... He gives me another concerned look before walking out of the bathroom. I slowly turn to look back at the mirror, seeing my eyes turn into slits before disappearing again.
What the hell is happening to me? I squeeze my eyes shut before walking to the kitchen and starting a pot of coffee. As the coffee maker starts, I look out of the kitchen window. I watch as the dark grey clouds continue to pour as I try to calm down.
Suddenly, I hear a growl right before I feel claws digging into my back! I cry out and quickly turn around but nothing's there! My heart races as I look around the empty kitchen with confusion. Binx comes flying around the corner, twice his size, and ready to fight.
"What!? What is it?! Where is it!?" He says ears back and teeth out. My heart races as my brain struggles to understand what's happening. That growl... those claws... I know them like they're my own. This isn't possible...
I slowly push myself back up and look to Binx before saying "You... it's you..."
