Dark History

The blood red light emanating from her eye lit up her face and the sight left me speechless. It was as if someone hit the rewind button on a remote, her injuries started to vanish at a rapid pace. The cuts and bruises all over her body receded and before I knew it I could see her other eye as the swelling subsided.

After several minutes, the blood red light from both her eyes dimmed and then finally vanished. She slowly picked herself up, assumed a seated position on her knees, and then looked directly at me. I could now see that her eyes had returned to their original brown color.

My eyes then wandered down and saw that all the wounds on her body had disappeared. 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘥 𝘐 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩'𝘴 𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦...𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘴𝘢𝘺 ����𝘦𝘹𝘵?

I had been so focused on trying to save her and her miraculous recovery that I didn't really think that far ahead. Now that she was safe I had no idea what to do or say. She silently stared at me dead in the eyes. Honestly, I wanted to look away, it was extremely uncomfortable. I could even feel sweat starting to bead up on my forehead, but for some reason I thought it would be bad if I broke eye contact.

I needed to build trust with her, I wanted her to know that I wasn't going to be the next rapey bandit, so shiftily breaking eye contact probably wasn't the best idea. I was giving my all to keep looking back, but I didn't know how much longer I could last. People like me don't usually get this much attention from a beautiful woman ya know?

Finally, after what seemed like hours, she broke the silence while still staring at me.

"Thank you, if you weren't here I would have died."

"U-uh....y-yes. A-are you o-ok now?"

"My external injuries have healed, but I am still quite weak. I would need more help to regain my full strength. So, Mr. Adventurer, why did you save me?"

"H-huh?"

"Don't Adventurer's normally hunt down Demons? You saw my horns didn't you? Even if I am only a half breed, Adventurer's group us all together don't they? Or did you hope to satisfy your lust after healing me? Tell me! What are you after!?"

"I-I-I-I-I-I..."

Her sudden switch to aggressive questioning had blindsided me, I had no idea what to say. I really didn't have a good answer, I saved her because.....

"You what?!? No need to pretend anymore, while my physical injuries are healed, I am still helpless. Show me your true face human!"

"I-I.....didn't w-want to s-see you d...i....e"

The last bits of my sentence were almost a whisper as I was overwhelmed by her questioning. I tried to think of a good answer, but in the end I said what first came into my head out of reflex.

"...."

Silence settled into the room again. Again I tried my hardest to look right back at her, but I felt like I was losing this staring contest. Her eyes were so intense, it was as if they were looking into my soul, and could see all my dirty secrets. 𝘖𝘩 𝘨𝘰𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘩𝘦? 𝘐 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘐 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺! 𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦.....𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘦𝘸 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴! 𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺! 𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘸𝘰 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘤𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺....𝘞𝘈𝘐𝘛 𝘐 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵!

As I tried to defend the actions of my past self she broke the silence again.

"It seems you are telling the truth.... you are a rather strange human."

Well that's a relief, I am glad that she believes me, but why does it feel like it isn't good faith but rather....like she can read my thoughts.

"H-huh? H-how do you know I-I'm telling the t-truth?"

"I guess you humans can't really tell us half breeds apart very easily. I am half Succubus."

"U-uhhhh....what does that mean?"

The only thing I knew about a Succubus came from my previous knowledge, that was that they were....very erotic. I didn't really know if that knowledge was accurate in this world, but from looking at her....she is definitely quite erotic. I hadn't noticed due to the tense atmosphere, but now that she had relaxed a bit I was able to notice her.....assets. I'm not sure how else to describe them to do them justice. The only thing I could think of was.....𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘬𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘴.

"Oh you don't know? Are you a new Adventurer? Succubus are able to read the surface thoughts of other beings. Since I am only half it takes quite a lot of effort, but since you didn't break eye contact I was able to pull some pieces out. From that I could see that what you said was the truth."

Ah I see, well that's good, I am glad she now knows I mean her now harm. She then slowly got up, went to the corner of the room, and picked up what looked like a disheveled dress and started to get dressed. I didn't realize it, but I had stared at her the entire time. 𝘞𝘰𝘸....𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩. 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵.... 𝘖𝘩 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘵! 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘮 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨! 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩��𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥!

I quickly shuffled on the ground and did a 180 to prove I wasn't a pervert. 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘶𝘱! 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘳! 𝘠𝘦𝘴, 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘭𝘭. 𝘚𝘦𝘦, 𝘐 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘐?

The only sound in the room was the ruffling of clothes as she got dressed. She didn't make any retorts, I seemed to be safe. I mean, not like I did anything to be ashamed of anyways. Safety is important after all.

"Hah....."

I let out a sigh of relief, it seems everything had worked out so far. She was saved, I was able to gain some of her trust, and she wasn't able to read my more.... adult thoughts. Eventually the sound of rustling ended, and I heard her voice.

"Thank you for waiting. You can turn around now."

I turned around to see her in a plain tan dress. It looked quite cheap and beat up, but she was able to somehow pull it off. When I saw her naked I felt a massive amount of excitement, like I was about to have a nosebleed. Fully clothed, she let off a sense of allure and sexiness that drew me in. 𝘐𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘶𝘣𝘶𝘴 𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥? 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘺 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥?

"I know this is discourteous of me since you saved me, but I'd like to ask you for a favor. I normally would not do such a thing, but the situation is urgent and I have no one else I can ask."

"F-favor?"

"Yes."

"U-uhhhh. S-sure."

"Before I ask, can I ask you one thing? While I know you mean me no harm, I can't leave anything to chance, she is very important to me."

"She?"

"Nevermind that, will you answer my question?"

"....Yes."

"Thank you for understanding."

Do I look shifty or something? Did I behave like some sort of evil organization she knows about?

"Can you tell me what two girls and a cup is?"
