Feeling of Familiarity

Another year passed.

Chevre was eating a slice of cake, looking past tables and customers in a small cafe. His eyes were fixed on a glass divider behind the counter.

"You realize, this is the third day in a row, we have come here for lunch and they don't even serve heavy meals. I am going on a carbo overload because of you," complained Alfred while twisting his fork on a plate of pasta.

His older brother did not divert his gaze but just kept staring at the pastry chef, frosting a set of cupcakes from the see-through work area of the shop.

Alfred looked at the girl he was starring at before returning his gaze to his brother, "If you like her so much, why don't you just ask her out."

Chevre scoffed before saying, "I wasn't looking at her. I was looking at the cupcakes!" He first finished the last piece of his strawberry shortcake before saying, "We should order for a dozen of cupcakes… For Bianca, she might love cupcakes."
