Letting Shukaku take over, I retreated into my mental plane... From there, I could watch my body in third person.

It was weird at first, but I'd get used to it, eventually.

"GIHAHAHAHA! I'M OUT!"

The sand coat fell off as Shukaku jumped on stage, causing cracks to appear on the ground beneath his feet. Well, they were my feet... Whatever.

"Shukaku... You're drooling. Please control my bodily functions properly... I don't want to look like a madman."

"Shut up! Let me enjoy myself, brat!"

Smiling sadistically, Shukaku looked at Naruto right in the eyes, making him flinch.

"Kid... Bring out the fox! Let me fight him!"

Naruto gulped down some saliva, clearly confused as to what was going on.

"You... What happened? Have you gone crazy?"

"Begin!"

Genma ignored my mental state as he allowed the match to begin... Hearing this, Naruto snapped out of it.

"Whatever... You're going down!"

Suddenly, he started drawing from Kurama's chakra as a red aura surrounded his body.

"Tajū-Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"

The arena shook once again as Naruto brought out over a hundred clones this time. They all looked ready to brawl.

"Yes...That's it...Bring him out! GIHAHAHAHA!"

Shukaku laughed maniacally as sand started covering his arm, transforming it into a huge sand-claw similar to his own.

"Grahh!"

Swinging his arm, a bunch of sand-shuriken flew towards Naruto, eliminating half of his clones in one go.

"Not enough... I need more! Bring the fox out now!"

Shukaku inhaled wildly, drawing in all the air in the surrounding area and making his stomach expand.

He then slammed it, and a massive bullet of chakra-infused compressed air went flying towards the original Naruto.

"Fūton: Renkūdan!"

The bullet hollowed the ground as it sped towards Naruto, hitting him perfectly in the chest and sending him flying.

Naruto was incrusted into the wall, automatically canceling all the clones. Shukaku swung his arm once again, stretching it across the field.

It wrapped around Naruto's body, pushing him further into the wall and making him cough out blood.

"I said bring him out!"

'Shukaku... Don't kill him. I'm serious.'

"I'm not killing him! He's just too weak! GIHAHAHAHA!"

Shukaku ignored me as he started covering Naruto's mouth with his sand, bout to suffocate him.

"COME OUT!"

I watched as Genma was thinking whether or not to step in. Sighing, I sat back and let Shukaku do his thing.

Suddenly, Naruto's chakra flared up.

(Naruto's POV: 'I... I won't lose! Pervy sage... Kakashi-Sensei... Sasuke... I can't lose!')

"RAAH!"

Naruto screamed as red chakra started coating his body. His eyes became red as his nails and teeth sharpened.

As his whiskers became more and more pronounced, Naruto blasted through Shukaku's arm roared... A tail appeared behind his back.

I was wondering why Genma didn't stop the fight... anyway; I felt Shukaku's boil even more.

"Yes... Yes! That's it! Fox!"

"Ngh... I... I won't lose!"

Naruto screamed and started running towards Shukaku like an animal. His speed had become incomparable to anyone I had to face so far.

So this is the power of the Kyūbi... He's strong...!

Shukaku smiled viciously and took on Naruto. Upon impact, their hands slammed together as they pushed each other.

The ground cracked beneath their feet as they growled. It was like watching two animals fight for superiority.

Suddenly, the markings on my body started extending to Naruto's own, making him unable to move.

"Gihi... Have a taste of my curse!"

After saying this, Shukaku made another san-arm and slammed Naruto with it, sending him flying.

"Graaaaaah! Is that all you've got... KURAMA?!"

'Shukaku, finish him quickly. If this goes on any further, there's a chance they will stop the match.'

"... Just when I was having fun... Whatever... You killed the vibe."

Now angry, Shukaku raised his arms and sand started covering Naruto's body. It then formed into an enormous pyramid, and the blue markings spread around it.

"Good luck getting out of that!"

With my perception, I felt Kurama's chakra disappear. Nodding, I took back control.

'That's enough for now. Had fun?'

"Hell yeah! But you cut it short, you little piece of shit."

'Look, I'm sorry, but I needed to win this. Now, hand over the wheel.'

"All right... Whatever..."

Getting back control, I released Naruto from the seal. His unconscious body fell on the sand, clearly incapable of fighting anymore.

Genma flickered next to him and slowly raised his hand.

"Gaara is the victor! Ladies and gentlemen... We have a champion!"

"..."

"HELL YEAH!"

"AMAZING!"

The audience went crazy, making the arena come alive. Taking in the achievement, I smiled and looked in Baki's direction once again.

His satisfied look said everything... This would be great publicity for the village.

Konohagakure only had one more contestant in the final tournament, whereas Sunagakure, who brought in fewer people, almost made up half of the bracket.

This implied that Suna's new generation was at least on par, if not stronger than Konoha's.

'Then again, nothing interrupted the tournament, just like I had predicted... It seems like Konoha was able to take care of the sound's troops. As for Orochimaru... I must wait for an update."

Suddenly, another air bubble appeared next to me. After popping, I heard Baki's voice once again.

"Good job, Gaara. I just overheard the conversations of the more influential guests, and they're pleasantly surprised with our village's demonstration of power. You did well... Also... was that... Shukaku?"

Looking up, I saw Baki's fearful expression. I just smiled mysteriously and focused on Genma.

As they put Naruto on a stretcher, Genma walked over to me and placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Congratulations, you have become the champion of the Chūnin exams. This doesn't mean that you'll become a Chūnin… Good job though."

Nodding, I removed his hand and walked towards the exit. Looking at my hand, I saw a small piece of flesh resting in it...

"My job here is done...!"
