"Don't laugh," Lily could feel her blush working up its way to her neck. She grabbed the cookbook from the counter and throw it in the trash. "Please don't laugh."
Of course, this was futile. Zhou Jingren already burst into laughter. It was low and quick. His eyes sparkled as he looked at her burning face. "How could you be this beautiful?" he asked, amusement laced his tone.
"Stop it," Lily said. She wanted to pretend that she was serious as Zhou Jingren stood in front of him. It did not work. Not long after, Lily burst into a puddle of laughter. Her embarrassment vanished as if it was never there in the first place. "Alright… maybe cooking and I wasn't meant to be."
"Let's hire someone." Zhou Jingren's hands caressed her cheeks. He then lifted her chin, meeting her eyes. "Remember, the Chef from the orphanage?" he asked. He didn't wait for Lily's answer as he leaned down to kiss her.
