I'm No Longer A Princess

Five days have passed.

"Nngh.." Yuina scrunches her eyebrow when she suddenly feels ached all over her body. Slowly she opened her eyes.

"You're awake?" Kyra ask. She heard that the girl groaning from the bed. She just let it be and see what the girls would say.

"Erm...Hay…den..Where's Hayden?" With a hoarse voice, she tries to utter it. She needs to know where's Hayden. Is he okay, or is he not? She uses all her energy to sit up. It feels like her body was too heavy for her to lift it up.

Hearing she called out one name, Kyra asks again. "Is Hayden is that man's name?" She narrowing her eyes to the person beside the girl.

Turning her head to the right, she almost crying. Hayden's body is full of bandage. He still unconscious right now. Ignoring the lady who talks to her before, she caresses Hayden's cheek.

"Hayden... I'm sorry to cause you like this." She sobs a little. She passes out when then they hit the first branch and that is when her memory ended. She doesn't know what happens after that.

"He needs rest to recover, so you should not waking him up by your whimpering sounds," Kyra said and continue to do her work. She is in the middle of cooking.

Her house is not too big, she only lives with her older brother, Kaji. Her brother is totally useless and bookworm, all he does is buried himself with a pile of the book to read and studies, while she? She needs to takes the responsibility to do the house chores, and even man's work also she will do it. Because of her brother did something to bring shame to their family years ago, they decide to stay far from the village. Their house is a bit hidden in the valley and a quite close to the rocky mountain too.

"Hic..I'm..I'm sorry...Hic." Yuina wipes her tears and looks down at Hayden who still lying unconscious.

"You know, I found him hugging you and he's so hard to release you from his hugging. You could have died crushed by him. And what's more important is..why did you two decide to kill yourself? Have you grown tired of living?"

Yuina jolts a bit when the woman who nags at her now chopping the carrot with a loud thump. Like she released her anger toward the poor carrot.

She immediately wipes her eyes and stops her hiccup before she answers her.

"Uhm..no..it's not like that. We're in the middle of the way to find someone, and then we were surrounded by a group of the soldier and we..we both fall down from the cliff." Yuina shifting her body to look at the woman.

Upon facing the woman, her eyes caught a view of medium-height woman, with a slender waist and had a curly hair. She looks a bit pretty for a village girl. She then diverts her eyes around her house, all in neat and tidy. Even though it was a bit cramped with furniture, but still it comfortable enough.

"Why would the soldier ambushing you and that man?" She did not look at her whilst she keeps continue to cook.

"Erm…" Yuina tilts her head a little. 'She doesn't know who is Hayden? If it was her, she might understand it because she is rarely seen and only come out to show her face once a year but Hayden? He is some kind of famous hunk. They're also not too far from the main city. Still within a range of where the people can get full access to Zirconia news. She's been thinking so hard whether she should or not to tell her about her identity.

After some thought, she decides to tell her. After all, she already helps her to treat them and she seems like a nice person too. Nodding her head, she starts "I am actually a Zirconia princess, and he is my..he's General Hayden. Used to be General, but now, he just Hayden. We.."

"Pffttt..hahahah...What nonsense are you spewing on? Lady, princess Zirconia already dead three days ago. Even though I don't know how she looks like but she and that General already dead. They announce it three days ago." Kyra wipes her tears a bit hearing the jokes from the girl who claims she is the princess.

Yuina's head feels like has been struck by lightning. 'Dead? What does she mean by dead? I still alive, aren't I?' She looks at both of her palms. Confirming that she still breathe and not in dreamland.

"Uh…What's your name?" She asks without looking at her.

"Kyra."

"Kyra, when did you found us?"

"Five days ago. At the lake. You and your lover fall from the sky. I think it's the cliff."

"That's right! You found me five days ago, and that princess also died five days ago right? Indeed, they announce it three days ago. but, think about the time frame. It would fit mine. What a coincidence."

Kyra stops his hand from stirring the pot. She turns around and looks at the girl.

"Tell me, do you know what specific color that the princess has?" Yuina keeps on asking her. Want her to believe that she was the real princess.

Scrunch her eyebrow, Kyra try to remember it. She was at the market that times when she heard someone talk about that Zirconia princess. She has a unique hair color that makes she's special.

"Umm..red? Maroon, maybe?" She tries to guess it. Yup, she remembers. It is within that ranges color.

"And what color my hair is?" Yuina blinks her eyes a few time to her. Hoping that she would notice her hair color.

"Huh?" Kyra looked at her. Tilting her head a little. "Scarlet?"

Yuina sighs helplessly. But only for second before she asks again. "Do you ever see any girls with the same hair color as mine?"

Kyra shakes her head. "Nope, your hair color is too weird."

"That makes me a princess. Do you believe me now?"

Kyra did not reply to her. She just shakes her head helplessly and continues to cook.

Once she was done, she invites Yuina to have lunch with her.

"Yuina is your name, is it?" Kyra scoops one spoon of beef congee to her mouth.

Yuina nod and eat her full bowl of congee. She eats with manner but it was very fast because she feels so hungry right now. What Kyra cooked makes Yuina's becomes more appetizing. It's so delicious.

"So, if you're the princess. Why'd you run away with that beast man? I mean, Hayden? I heard the real princess is kidnap because that General wants to marry her."

Yuina turns her body a little, glancing at Hayden with a soft gaze. "My father was killed by Prince Hans. I don't know the real reason though, but Hayden...Hayden save me and we run from the castle so that we can stay alive. He wants my father's throne."

"If he wants your father's throne, why'd he go such a hard way? He can ask your father to marry you off to him. It's not that hard, isn't it?"

Yuina also nods her head. She agrees with Kyra. Why'd he wants to go to such a hard way when he can ask her father to marry her off to him. But, wait a sec! Who is her fiance true identity that her father has selected if it's not Prince Hans? 'Is it… ' Yuina turn to look at Hayden again. Shake her head, she sighs a bit. 'It is impossible, right?'

"My father..has find one suitable man for the next king or precisely, my husband. But until now, I don't know who is my fiance's identity. Only he and my father know it all. Maybe that's the reason why Prince Hans run a rampage that day."

"Hm? And from all of the people, he was the one who comes to rescue you?" Kyra lift up her eyebrow. It is a bit interesting.

"Yes. He's the one who…willing to help me, save me and protect me. He's my knight."

"Knight? Hmm…more like a lover to me." She chuckles.

Who wouldn't think of that? Look at them, when Kyra first saw them in the lake, he was hugging her tightly. It's even hard for Kyra to remove his hand around that girl. He was obviously in love with this girl. But, maybe this girl is too dumb to know it.

A knight falling in love with the princess and run away from the castle because of the forbidden love from the King? Seems it more like a sensible reason to her.

"No..we're not.."

"Kyra! Kyra! I found it! I found it!" A man with messy hair and stashes around her chin come to the kitchen with an excited expression.

"Hey! Can you low down your voice? There are sick people here!" Kyra growling at her brother.

"Oh! Sorry." He turns to look at the sick people who Kyra just mentioned before.

Upon seeing both of the guests. He gasps loudly with his mouth turn into a big 'o' and his face shows a surprising reaction. He points his finger to the man lying on the bed and then turns to the girl who sits on the wooden bench at the dining table.

"What….what…what they doing here?" He tremblingly asks his little sister.

"Didn't I tell you that I found a couple who badly injured five days ago? Why your face looks like you just meet a ghost?" Kyra rolled her eyes.

"My apologize, Your Highness. Pardon my small house and my sister's ruthless word." Kaji immediately kneeling down to Yuina. It makes Kyra dumbfounded. True, her brother is useless and bookworm, but he never joking around about something like this.

"It's okay, raise your head. I'm no longer a princess. I've died. According to the news and Zirconia citizen." She said politely.

"Er…Er..is it true? She's a princess? And that man is General Hayden?" Kyra also starts trembling a bit.

Kaji nods his head, telling his little sister the fact that they both are a from the castle.

"My apologies, Your Highness!" Kyra lowered her head.

"No..please..I'm no longer a princess."
