A cresent shaped smile appears on my face at Zachary's words. "Really!? You're not trying to trick me like Malikai does?" A glimmer of hope appears on my otherwise worried eyes.
In a tone of all seriousness, he says, "I would never. Unlike Malikai, I will always tell you the truth." His voice is soft as he speaks, almost like coaxing a kitten out from under the bed. Wait, did I just compare myself to a kitten!? No, not a kitten, I'm a proud lioness. Not some small, defenseless feline!
I pout at my own thoughts as Zachary guides me out of the throne room.
~~~~~~~~~~
Before walking out the throne room, I don't forget to innocently grin at Malikai implying, 'Not my fault you don't give her what she wants.' I snicker before guiding Kippy through the halls of the castle. Going slow enough that she can keep up whole in her own thoughts, I make a remark. "Did you know that the first time we met, you threw a book at me?" My voice holds a mixture of sadness thinking of the years that have passed but, also joy at the nice memory.
We both stop in our tracks. "Really!? I'm sorry, I have no memory of it nor has anyone spoke of times we had together." I can hear in her voice that she means it. She more than likely wants her memory back as much as I do.
Trying to lighten the mood, "Yeah, it was even a book on proper etiquette." I pat her on the back before continuing on walking, letting go of her, while still making sure she isn't far behind.
Kippy laughs under her breath before recovering herself. "So, may I ask where might we be going?" She quickly picks up her pace, placing her at my side rather than behind me.
Turning to her, "We're going to see if you have a divine gift." I point forward to a downward spiral staircase. "Downstairs, we have a stone collection that reacts to certain peoples abilities. It will tell us if you have a divine ability." As I finish speaking, we make it to the staircase and head downstairs.
~~~~~~~~~~
As I take a few steps down, I feel an unusual aura. It seems familiar but I don't know where I've felt it. Once at the bottom, I see that the entire room is being lit by dim crystals that are embedded into the rock walls. Similar to a cave, the room holds dozens of different colors of crystals.
Opening my mouth to ask what I do, he answers before I have to. "You'll use a bit of your blood and place it on the rock. The walls should soak up the blood and whatever types of stones glow will show your attributes." He walks over to me with a small dagger. My eyes bulge at it, knowing what he wants to do. Noticing my discomfort, he says, "Don't worry, I can make the cut so small it will feel like a pinch."
Before I can make my rebuttal, he takes the dagger, making a small, half inch slight on the pointer finger of my right hand. He's right, I barelly feel it but, seeing the blood emerge from the wound makes me slightly light headed. I hate blood, I've hated it for as long as I can remember.
Zachary takes my left hand in his and brings me towards the nearest wall. Nudging me, I place my right hand on the wall. Once the wall soaks in my blood, I quickly bring back my hand to see the wound is gone. Well, that's nice I guess.
After only a few moments, the room becomes lighter. Turning to see which stones are alight, I see five. One is a light violet while the others are a spiral of stars, gold, white, and finally one of pure black. I wouldn't have noticed the black one if not for the others around it. It seemed to be emitting darkness or maybe engulfing the light?
I turn to see Zachary staring at the same one, a grim expression. Well, that and the two beside it, the gold one and the white one. In a slightly worried tone, I ask, "So, did I pass?"
~~~~~~~~~~
Kippy's voice interupting my thoughts, I stare at her in awe. Although they do exist, to have a divine power(white stone), demonic power(black stone), and be a queen's candidate(gold stone) is incredible rare. On top of that she has the moon goddesses power's as well as a unique ability. Passing? More like becoming a simple priestess would be a waste of your talents but, I mean, you are my future wife so. . .gotta have the goods, right?
Trying to act cool, I say, "Your more than capable of being a priestess." Yeah, not even the high priestess of the demon clan could compare. For goodness sakes, my high priest(Malikai) can't compare!
~~~~~~~~~~
Hearing Zachary's words, I can't help but run over and hug his arm before asking, "Can I be one of your priestesses!?"
His eyes widen. He takes a few moments before asking, "Are you sure you want to be my priestess? Even if I give you the title of my high priestess, you won't fit the title."
I feeling of confusion washed over me. "What do you mean?"
Zachary explains the meaning of each stone to me before sighing. I can tell that he doesn't have a clue what to do with me.
"On a level from one to ten, how rare are my abilities?" Maybe this can give me an idea because, I seriously have no clue how rare each one is.
Zachary laughs, sounding somewhat pathetic. "Is one million an option?"
Hello again, just wanted to remind you guys that, although I hope to update more this week, I have finals at the end of this week and need to study. Plus, each of these chapter takes at least forty-five minutes just to write and that's on a good day. So, hope you enjoyed!
