It has been 2 weeks since I have started Hogwarts. First of all, let's talk about the classes. Since I am very far ahead of coursework, first-year classes were very uninteresting and boring for me, Aside from potions class. Say what you will about Snape, despite his teaching method (if you can call his method of writing recipe on board and hounding class for rest of time "teaching") Dude knows how to keep things interesting (if you can look past his whole shebang of trying to scare you). For a brooding death eater, he sure is very dramatic. I have still not found which spell he uses to bellow his robes like that while walking. Though I have a sneaking suspicion that he is an unregistered bat animagus.
Aside from the classes, I spent all my free time holed up in Room of Requirements (RoR). RoR is a whole lot better than I imagined. Aside from consumables like food or drinks, it can provide me with anything, given its present somewhere in Hogwarts itself. Means I have access to all the books including restricted library books and teachers personal collections. Access to Dumbledore personal collection of books including Alchemy books almost made me drool. My core has started to visibly become bigger due to a high amount of ambient of magic present at Hogwarts. I also got around to read a few books about dark arts. Previously I thought that magic is neither light or dark, it was all about user's intent i.e. depending on its use it could be either good or bad since even light magic could be used for killing someone. And boy, I was in for a rude awakening. Turns out there is a good reason to classify magic in light and dark. Let me explain in this way, magic is all about equal exchange meaning output is proportional to the input. Light magic uses a wizard's or witch's core magic input for desired output as a spell. Meaning more magic you feed it, the stronger the spell. But it's not the same for Dark magic. Dark magic uses negative emotions of the user along with the user's magic to cast spells. Meaning, if the user has high enough negative emotions, Dark spells use less of the user's magic to cast.
Dark magic has a very well founded ill reputation since the user has to feel negative emotion again and again to cast spells. No wonder the Black family has a reputation of its members going insane.
Which brings me to my current problem. I previously thought I am currently strong enough to defend myself since I already have a liquid core. But if faced with an experienced user of Dark magic like a Death Eater, even if he had a gas core, I can still be easily defeated since he can perform a higher number of or stronger spells using negative emotions. It explains why a few Death Eaters could easily spread terror among the wizarding population. Not to mention the Dark Lord himself. Voldemort with his solid core and use of dark magic could throw around powerful spells like they are going out of style. His opponent i.e. Albus Dumbledore could also match him despite only using light spells since he has stronger magical to back it up. Its been around 5 decades since his 2nd magical maturity and defeat of Grindelwald and since then he has been sitting on top of a top magical nexus with 7 ley lines like Hogwarts, his solid magical core is bound to be strong enough to contend with Voldemort. Seems like there is a good reason why he is called the second coming of Merlin. This makes me realize that even if I were to achieve my 2nd magical maturity before the resurrection of Voldemort at the end of Triwizard competition, they both will be still leagues above me and I will be just cannon fodder against them. No, to contend against monsters like them, I need to find unique advantages. One of the things that can make me stronger is Ritual magic. But from the basics I have read about it, I need to give up something equal in exchange. I could not afford to look like an inhuman like Voldemort. No, I need to find a ritual that suits me. I need to continue to learn and train in Room of Requirement till I find suitable ways to make me stronger.
On a side note, I have also hit a more pressing problem called 'Assignments'. Professors in every subject give assignments, measured in feet of parchments. Meaning I can't skim on work if I don't want to give up on my goal of getting O+ and seen as a bright student. Being unaccustomed to quill and ink makes it particularly hard for me. Snape being a sadistic bastard that he is gives a lot of homework to torture students. I am not happy about hours I need to spend to do the homework especially since I already know the material. But after spending hours in Room of Requirement doing research, I have found the solution to the problem. I am going to modify and use the method they use to write Hogwarts letter of students. Handwritten letter to students of all years are sent before the start of the term using animation spell. Deputy Headmistress animate the quill to write in standard Hogwarts letter format and fill out names afterward. I just need to modify the charm to write what I want instead of the standard Hogwarts letter format. Since I already know the material to write, I can just charm the quill once and it will write for hours. I can also add a reference to older years of material to give the impression that I spent hours researching the content in books. This will give me an excuse to spend hours alone "doing homework". I can also explain any extra knowledge a let slip by this way.
I am going to drown professors in feet and feet of parchments, They won't have any choice but to give O+. I am going to add extra feet of parchments for Snape and him a lot of material to check to give him a taste of his own medicine.

~~~ Scene: Teachers Meeting ~~~
All of the professors were sitting at a long table with Headmaster Dumbledore sitting at the main seat.
"Another year has come to an end. So, let's start this meeting by voicing issues anyone of you had this year." said Headmaster Dumbledore kindly.
"Someone broke in my office and stole stuff. Why, in my time students were punished by chained and ...." Filch starts to rant.
"Alas, while most unfortunate, we don't know the culprit and thus can't punish anyone. I am sure the culprit will see the error of their ways" said Headmaster Dumbledore to Filch gently.
"If there is nothing else to report, let's talk about new students this year. Any in particular worth mentioning. Let's start with you Minerva." asked Headmaster Dumbledore.
"There are a few notable students this year, Especially Mr. Diggory from Hufflepuff and Mr. Canis and Mr. Davis. Though Mr. Canis seems to be a bit overzealous in handing out his homework for lack of the better word " said, prof. McGonagall.
"A bit overzealous!!! The brat hands out bundle full of parchments every time. It takes more than an hour to check them all. Not to mention he even writes every single little detail and obscure facts that even I don't remember and need to check in books." said Prof. Snape while scowling.
"He does tend to get a little carried away. According to others in Ravenclaw house, he spends hours and hours holed up in his room doing homework. Though I am a bit proud as his head of the house." said Prof. Flitwick.
