Unexpected Encounter

It's fur shining like pitch black sky, full of glowing stars. It felt like Anuja is floating and then she saw it, a pair of topaz green eyes, piercing through her with such concern in them, that it made her feel vulnerable.

Never in her 20 years of life, had she felt...

So satisfied,

So happy,

So full.

It felt perfect as if this all was meant to happen. Her eyelids felt heavy but she didn't want to let them close. But eventually, they started to droop close completely, her struggles of no use.

"Aaah!!! I feel like sh*t ", she mumbled groaning in pain. It felt as if her whole body was on fire, muscles aching in pain. But what aches the most was her heart. It's such a strange feeling. All she can see was darkness.

That's when she felt a cool hand sweeping across her hair, clearing away all her worries and pain with it, plunging her into the world of nothingness again.

Later at the castle:-

"Mmmmmh"

Awakening from a deep slumber with a yawn, she looked to her right, expecting to see the usual scenery of animals flocking near her bedside lake. But to her surprise, what she saw was completely unexpected. In front of her stood a young lady with long hair.

"Good morning, Madam. How are you feeling now?" , says the lady in maid's clothes. She tried sitting up, feeling a little ache all over her body. Ignoring it, she took in her unusual surroundings and her eyes immediately detect the absence of her friend.

"Hello, Umm, if you don't mind me asking, could you tell me which place this is?!?!"

"Oh my!!! Sorry for my lack of manners. I'm Liz, your maid in waiting, you are currently at the Rising Palace, the home to King of all Kings, King Ryan. He found you in Lake Dvaar unconscious...", said the young maid.' How could King Ryan give importance to such an insignificant creature, that too, a human.' She sneered inside thinking of ways to throw the human out as soon as possible. But first, she must follow her dear Ryan's order and get her ready to bring her for breakfast.

Inside Anuja's mind:

'Great! I was gonna die due to drowning. And that too while being a friend of a mermaid. Just great!! She was worried about her friend, but she would be fine, she was a mermaid after all.

For one could see how proud the maid was of her kingdom and it's king. Anuja decided it would be wise to not enquire any further and ask this King himself about what is going on. She must thank him for saving her too. After that, she helped the maid with her morning chores.

Anuja was escorted towards her room after having her breakfast in the dining room. From what she had heard from Risa( the maid who came to her room in the morning), she came to know that she's currently in Amar realm. A realm of supernaturals with no humans. In this realm, humans were loathed and in some cases, they were considered a rare delicacy. Eh, it's not like she can say that she's happy about knowing her location.

But at least one good thing came out of all this. Anuja came to know of a brand new world. She heard that there are fairies and elves in this world, and the coolest one are the vampires. But she also heard that their region is out of bounds and their most favourite meal would be humans, so she doesn't think that it is that much of a good idea to try to see them.

Well leaving all this aside the thing that most interests her, is this King of supernaturals. What kind of person is he? He must be a really good person. She felt he was familiar for some reason and frowned.

She just can't remember and this headache was troubling her ever since she woke up in this world. She spent the rest of her day in the gardens and then back to her room. Ryan hadn't returned back yet. It looks like she wouldn't be able to see him today but she really wanted to see him. Looks like it's time to go to bed. That when she heard the sound of a knock on the window. Her heart rate increased by the shock of sudden noise. Who could be there at this time and that too outside when she's on the 5th floor, that too in a castle on a hill?

At first, she tried to ignore the sound, thinking that her mind was playing tricks on her. Maybe being in a new place, a new world to be precise, is getting to her. She just needed to rest for some time and then everything is gonna be fine. But after some time, there was another knock. And the sound continued to persist how much ever she tried to ignore it.

She thought she should call one of those guards, who are usually present in the hallway. Thinking that she got up and went into the hallway to ask for help, but to her dismay, no one was present there. And that's how she reacted in this situation. Moving towards the window, tip-toeing cautiously.

In her way, she picked a nearby vase just for her safety who knows what kind of creature it may be. To be able to reach the window at such height. 'Don't...don't worry Anuja it isn't gonna be anything serious maybe it's a little sparrow. Yeah! A sparrow at night, way to go Anuja. I just hope it is nothing dangerous and carnivores. Let's do this!'
