Just a Moment in Time

Right as the nameless one proceeded to leave with Blu he felt another wave of light flash before him. "What the, not again!" He cried before he vanished from Blu's sight.

He felt this familiar suction feeling and realized he was being pulled back to a familiar and terrifying setting. He was back! Back to the night he was ambushed by these beasts. But now they were normal sized and time was frozen still. He was frozen as well but just as he thought this the frozen barrier holding time still shattered and time flew like normal again.

Just coming back it took only a millisecond to grasp his situation. The spear the beast threw at him was still flying in the air directly towards his head with intense speed but now he could think clearly. As he watched this spear he with every muscle of his being moved his face just slightly to an angle so the spear would not directly puncture him and instead grazed him leaving a friction burn on his nose and cheek where it flew past lodging itself into a tree.

"No time to think what's going on it's time to finish this", he resolutely said. Now that he was back seemingly in place of where he was before he still had grasp of his trusted halberd and instantly gripped it tighter as if taking a mental note to not leave it behind again. He remembered clearly that Blu was being washed down the river and he knew if he didn't finish this fight soon she would fall down the abyss again and this time she may not be so lucky.

He immediately took back action using his heightened senses to swing the halberd right through an opening the closest beast made when it launched itself to attack him. While he wasn't as strong as these beasts and they still outnumbered him he had an edge in being able to perceive the battlefield at a faster pace. Using this gift he made quick work of the remaining beasts until he got to the leader. It was all that was left and he knew he didn't have much time before he had to catch up to Blu.

"It's your turn to die!" he yelled and instantly strove forward at full speed thrusting the heavy halberd forward and spinning the shaft to force the head of the halberd to spin like a drill top. This was the technique he used to finish off this beasts father and it was his most powerful technique.

"GRRRAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR" The beast roared at him as it sidestepped the powerful attack and swung it's spear like an axe towards the nameless one. He took the strike to his right shoulder as he couldn't completely dodge from this beasts speed and agility. After 10 rounds of similar fighting the nameless one knew he was wasting time and this beast wasn't so ordinary that he could finish it off quickly. He had to make a decision. Stay and fight, or leave and rescue Blu. He understood the beast well enough now that if he left to chase Blu the beast would also retreat as he had slowly gained an upper hand while fighting and the beast was disadvantaged now.

"No I can't let Blu fall down the abyss! We'll finish this soon beast king!" He roared as he dashed off downstream to chase after Blu.

The beast king simply watched on with slight fear in it's eyes. It knew it had barely survived this struggle today and was lucky this human had left to chase it's friend. This beast king also took a mental note of this that this humans Blue friend was more important then even killing a foe for. As it realized this it grinned and a slight glint shown in it's eyes and the beast king retreated into the forest. While the beast king knew the nameless one would kill the other beasts it also knew it's own life was more important and it only saw the other beasts as soldiers to dispose of anyway. This was truly a cruel and conniving beast who would stop at nothing to achieve it's goals.

"Blu! I'm coming Blu!!" the nameless one screamed as he ran down the river bank with his top speed he was already exhausted but couldn't stop here. He couldn't leave Blu to the abyss. He ran on with all his might. His legs felt like heavy slabs of metal and his chest felt like it was on fire as he took every breathe and pushed harder and harder to run. At this pace he was quickly covering distance and after a small sum of time had passed he was able to see the backs of the black and purple furred beasts that had been chasing Blu downstream. They had almost caught up to her and we're throwing the Spears through the water to try and pin her down.

The nameless one screamed "Blu! get out of the water now!! You have to get to shore! I'll save you Blu!" He continued pushing on and screaming the sentence over and over again as she seemed to be lost in thought and just then he caught up to where the beasts were. He did the only thing he could think of and threw the halberd like a javelin right towards Blu. His aim was spot on and it landed directly 2 meters in front of Blu startling her and snapping out of her flight response. She quickly grabbed the halberd with her mouth and swam it out of the water.

Meanwhile after the nameless one threw the halberd he lunged into the water onto one of the beasts backs. Quickly he slapped the beast on both sides of the ears rupturing at eardrums and causing it to let go of it's spear. He quickly grabbed it and stabbed it into the beasts neck using it to push himself off the beast and lunging himself into the air towards the river bank. The other beasts witnessing this display of acrobatics and savagery towards their kind followed him and decided they would go for him first and the Blu furred creature after.

"Stand behind me Blu. I'll handle this" he said as he grabbed his halberd but just as he did this he realized just how much he put his body through to make it here on time. It was screaming at him in sharp pain to stop and rest. He nearly wanted to give in as it was unbearable and he had never pushed himself this far even with his intense training. "We can't give up here. Have. To. Keep. Pushing. Forward!" He grimaced these words and blood even flowed from his mouth as he clenched his teeth tightly to take the focus off the intense pain of his body and legs.

"GRAAAAAAAA" He roared at the beasts as they came out of the water and lunged towards them this time he used every fiber of his being and proceeded to slay the remaining beasts with slow and heavy movements. If they had been as intelligent as their leader this would have been his resting place as he truly lacked the strength to fight nimbly. As he cleaved the last one in half he passed out falling backwards with Blu catching him safely.
