I will wait

Birds chirped outside, waking up the couple inside the stone cottage. 

Lu Xingyan felt strong arms, embracing her protectively. When she looked at the owner's face, she felt her cheeks heat up upon remembering the heated night they almost shared. It all felt like a dream... A dream she hoped that the man would forget. It was already embarrassing just by thinking of it.

She tried to squirm out of his arms but failed and instead, she ended up waking up the man hugging her.

His lashes fluttered like butterfly wings as he slowly opened his eyes. His pupils landed on her red face.

"You're awake." His deep voice reverberated in his chest. 

"It's the morning..." She muttered.

When the man finally released her, she quickly sat up and grabbed her dry clothes, and wore them. "We should head back."
