All the disciples, old and new alike, answered in unison.

The trial at the Desolate Ancient World was the best opportunity for the new disciples to showcase their abilities. If they missed this chance, they would never get another one. They would have to wait for future competitions to showcase their talent to have even a chance of getting noticed by a grand elder.

But the grand elders were rarely seen in normal competitions, and their attentions were extremely hard to attract.

Many grand elders would be present for the trial at Desolate Ancient World. Of course, they were all hidden far away or were scattered around the various mountains.

New disciples meant new blood. This trial was the easiest way to discover talented young buds to nurture.

All of the grand elders had already reached a point where they could no longer grow rapidly in terms of cultivation. They relied on a slow, constant growth as time passed.
