Before Wang Yan left to Europe, he was 12. Yan lived without his biological mother. He was just a child who was often abused by his stepmother. Who would burn his body with cigarettes buds whenever he disobey her. His body is covered in burnt scars. He lived a nightmare as a child. Wang Yan was a rebellious teenager and often get into fights to release his anger.

It was only one day until Little Ruo Qin was passing by Wang Yan's residence and witnessed his stepmother physically abused, kicked him with her heels by the road side before leaving Wang Yan alone covered in bruises.

Little Ruo Qin ran to Wang Yan and helped Wang Yan up. Ruo Qin poured some water from her bottle to clean Wang Yan's bruises and offered to share her lunch box with him. Wang Yan was deeply moved by her actions as Yan never experienced a mother's love or anyone's care. "Big brother, don't cry. Just don't be naughty next time" Ruo Qin's innocence made Wang Yan smiled stupidly.

Little Ruo Qin would visit Wang Yan every day after school outside his place. He was often made to stay out the house by his stepmother, and only allow him home at nightfall. Ruo Qin would doodle cute cartoons on bandaids and place on his wounds. Wang Yan would also defend her when the older boys bullied her.

A few months later, Wang Yan had to leave for Europe. The only worry he had was Ruo Qin. "Xiao Qin, wait for big brother to be back. I promise i will make a lot of money and marry you when you grow up!" They both exchanges promises with their little pinky finger.

Upon Wang Yan's arrival at the boarding school in Europe, it was where he met the 4 boys. Fang Jie, Daniel Chen, Kris Ler and Luo Wei. It was the start of their strong friendship.

Fang Jie, was Wang Yan's senior and saw the potential and perseverance Wang Yan had. Together, Fang Jie invested an amount to help Wang Yan to build his dream, his empire.

After his status was more recognized in the business, this was also when Wang Yan met Mei zhen. Mei zhen knew Wang Yan's worth and that he will excel further. She started building friendship with Wang Yan that eventually fell in love with him, even knowing Wang Yan only have Ruo Qin in his heart. To Wang Yan, Mei zhen is nothing more than a business partner.

Mei zhen often try to assist Wang Yan in his businesses, and attended events with Wang Yan as his partner. Everyone in the industry sees them as a compatible couple. However, Wang Yan's heart never once falter from Ruo Qin.

As years passed, Wang Yan and Ruo Qin remained in contact by exchanging emails and phone calls. They both wanted to uphold their promise and waited until Wang Yan was successful to make his return to Shanghai.

The day that both of them have been waiting for. "Qin, wait for me just 9 more hours and we'll see each other." Was the day Ruo Qin, was never the same Ruo Qin again.

Mei zhen arrived back in Shanghai 1 week before Wang Yan. She've started plotting to destroy Ruo Qin and Wang Yan's relationship. She knew if Ruo Qin existed, it is impossible to replace Ruo Qin in Wang Yan's heart.

On the day of Wang Yan's return to Shanghai. Mei zhen knew Ruo Qin will be going to the airport. Hence Mei zhen waited near the airport, a sense of anger ran through Mei zhen the moment she spotted Ruo Qin.

Mei zhen stared at Ruo Qin and stepped on the accelerator to full speed. Mei zhen loses her rationale and wanted to destroy Ruo Qin once and for all.

*BAM* *BAM*

Mei zhen knocked down not only one but 2 casualties. Mei zhen alighted her car and saw 2 bodies lying motionless on the ground. Mei zhen was scared to wits, afraid of being charged for murder, she made a phone call to her mother asking for help. "Check their pulse if they are alive. If they are alive move them into your car and get away from the scene!"

2 of the injured women, one was dead at scene, but Ruo Qin was still breathing but unconscious. Mei zhen lifted and dragged Ruo Qin into her car in no time, escaped the scene.

While Mei zhen's mother was informed that another lady was dead, Mei zhen's mother made use of this only chance to change that woman's identity as Ruo Qin. To changed someone's death to Ruo Qin is the only way to make her disappear from Wang Yan's life.

She made arrangements as soon as the incident happened, she also had someone to to be the scapegoat for Ruo Qin's 'accident' in return of a large sum of money.

While Mei zhen drove Ruo Qin to a secluded place, leaving Ruo Qin's motionless body covered in blood, Mei zhen left the place immediately but to only get discovered by a man..that's Song JianAn.

Song JianAn saw the injured Ruo Qin when suddenly Mei zhen returned to look for her cellphone that she dropped. Song JianAn and Mei zhen's met over Ruo Qin's motionless body. Mei zhen pleaded not to expose her and promised 5 million dollars in return.

Song JianAn agreed with that large amount of money, it was hard for him to reject the money. With that, Mei zhen left hastily. Song JianAn brought Ruo Qin back and nursed Ruo Qin's injuries. He knew if Ruo Qin is still alive, he could continue to blackmail Mei zhen for more money, otherwise he would reveal the truth.

Few days after the incident, Ruo Qin's condition improved and woke up from coma. But she is no longer Ruo Qin.

She is Zhao Ziwei.

The impact of the accident caused Ruo Qin suffered loss of memory. Nothing could help recovering Ruo Qin's memory. Mei zhen then instructed Song JianAn to register a new identity for her. Song JianAn also convinced Ruo Qin that she is Zhao Ziwei, and he was his fiancé and got married later.

All these years, Ruo Qin lived as Zhao Ziwei, a marriage with that she got cheated on by the man she loved.

While Wang Yan lived as a man who lost someone he loved dearly. Someone who went against all odds to be successful, just to see Ruo Qin again...
