The moment Leonard activated his ultimate boss slayer skill, it immediately attracted all type of attention toward himself, the troop that was still behind them watched it in awe as they felt the massive surge of power through their skin.
Erik, his father, also looked at his own son in disbelief, seeing the power that he had unleashed through the rusty iron mace- or what left of it now since the metal itself has been shredded, literally and replaced with an orb of raw power.
Of course it wasn't just their own side that was in awe by the display of power.
The old Necromancer and the remaining apprentices that was by his side also watched in awe and astonishment.
"That power...it-it's overwhelming!" he muttered while goosebumps began to showed itself on his aged dry skin and his blood began to boiled as he felt that power from afar.
It was only him that felt that way though, as all the apprentices under him felt a fear and dread washed over them as they look at the black orb of energy in front of their eyes.
"T-teacher, do you know what that is?" an apprentice stuttered as he asked the old man.
"No no no… however, base on the power it was displaying, I could guess it 's going to be devastating if it were to be unleashed." the old man had a wide grin on his face as he answered.
"Would it put us all in danger, teacher?" another apprentice asked his teacher out of fear.
"No, I do not think so, we will probably be fine." the old man leaned back on his bone chair as he watched Leonard in amusement.
*****
Leonard, too- watched in amusement as the next wave of undead troop charges at them, intending to finish him, his father, and the rest of the cavalry unit off.
The orb of energy was still gathering slowly above his head.
"Leonard, how long does that skill usually take to power up? I've felt it took a lot longer than it needed to be." Erik glanced at his son, Leonard and asked out of worry.
"Just wait for them a bit, we still had plenty of time." he smirked as he pulled out a large chunk of black energy crystal from his inventory and held it with one hand.
"What is that?" his father notice a strange crystal like object Leonard just happened to pulled out from thin air and grab held onto it tightly with one hand while still channeling the magic that was above of his head.
"This is my surprise for them…" he grinned ear to ear as he looks down at the incoming legion of undead only roughly a hundred meters away from himself.
*crack *Crack *shatter
Immediately he crushed the chunk of dark crystal in his hand, the moment the crystal was crushed, the ball of energy on top of his head shredded iron mace exploded out and expanded to at least triple it original size.
"Surprise~! You think you're safe from me while hiding in the back of these undead? Well...you are dead wrong." Leonard laughs like a mad man for a moment as the cavalry was coming ever closer.
"Get behind me quickly, father, this going to escalate quickly." the moment he said that, Erik immediately ordered the troop to retreat back.
"Behold! My supreme power!" Leonard hammered down the mass of power gathered over his head for a while already, the moment the mass of energy touched the ground, Leonard used a barrier to direct the soon to be exploding force toward the army of the dead.
ZzzzzzZZZZZZ!!!! *BOOOOOOMMM!!!!!
The force of the explosion directed at the army of dead wiped all traces of them from the earth itself, while leaving a scarred and charred earth and soils behind.
"Magnificent!" Leonard commented at the destruction that he had caused.
"I just love the smell of stuff burning in the morning~" he then added.
It was then that he notice a few figures still standing at the far end of the battlefield while surrounded themself with layers upon layers of protection barriers and reinforced magics, albeit- their lofty and impressive barriers was currently wavering and struggling to maintain form.
"I found you! So, that's where you're hiding." Leonard sneered as he looked at the group of Necromancer in the distant.
Leonard advanced toward the group of Necromancer who was exhausted to maintain that barrier, except for one man, the same old man that Leonard spied on when the undead army crossed over to the Evergreen kingdom, it was this man that led the army and the one who spotted him when he was spying on them.
"You guys don't seem too hot." he mocked the group.
"I have to say, impressive, you managed to block my strongest skill without dying, congratulation for being one of the few who survived it." he congratulated them by doing a dramatic slow clapping act.
"Are you...the man name "Pater Tuus"? If you are, I have to say, that ability was indeed impressive, I had to expense a bit of mana to maintain this barrier." the old man grinned at Leonard, showing his aged old teeth.
The moment Leonard heard the "name" that the old man mentioned, he couldn't help but to giggled a bit on the little joke that he played on the Republic.
Of course, seeing that Leonard was giggling at them, the apprentices barely standing got enraged, thinking that Leonard was mocking their teacher and was about to lash out at him.
"What's so funny?" the old man however, did not get enrage whatsoever, he was just confused.
"Ah~ I apologize for such a rude behavior, you are indeed right, I am "Pater Tuus"... the grand and magnificent Necromancer and dark magician of the Evergreen kingdom and I am here for all your heads so...any last words?" Leonard declared loudly.
"I see, if that's the case, I have a request for the defeated side of the army." the old Necromancer made a request to Leonard.
"What will that request be?" Leonard was curious.
"I shall fight you myself, it shall be a one on one duel…" the old man got up and walked toward Leonard while maintaining a stoic face on himself.
"Teacher don't! Allow us to take your place! Please escape!" the apprentices shouted out as they attempted to stop the old man, however they had no strength left on them and stumbled over onto the dirt ground.
"Challenge me?" Leonard was even more curious now.
"I shall make it worth it, if you defeat me...all the knowledge that I have accumulated throughout my life, shall be handed over to you, I'm sure it will be of worth to you." he offered.
"Why are you doing this, I am curious- why not just use it to exchange for your own life?" Leonard asked the old man.
"I am too old for this, I do not have much time left, there is no point in me asking for my life, all I ask is for a duel and you, taking in my disciple if possible." the old man told Leonard.
"Teacher! Please don't do this to us!" the apprentices begged him.
"I take it that you're not that welcoming in the Republic shadow council right?" Leonard asked him.
"It's politic, young one, complicated topic, when you live as long as me and involved yourself in politic, you are bound to make some enemies." the old man sighted.
"But enough...do you accept my challenge?" the old Necromancer slammed his staff into the dirt and challenged him.
