Since the battle with the wolf monster near the second village of the first floor, a whole month has gone by.
During those times, Leonard and Kirito were mindlessly grinding monsters of the first floor close to extinction, however- they still haven't found the boss yet, but to Leonard and Kirito, it was no big deal at all, while other players are busy looking for that floor boss- the two of them would have less competition going against them for the experiences points and items.
"So got anything yet Kirito?" Leonard asked as he pulled out his sword from the corpse of a wolf.
To which then it exploded into a million tiny fragment of data before vanishing.
"No, nothing but a few trashy pieces of equipment that could be the vendor or just recycle down for materials," Kirito responded.
"Well, that sucks...like what the hell are the wolves doing owning literally a crap ton of leather boots and old scrappy iron weapons that are better off being placed in a museum?!" Leonard cursed loudly as he opened up his inventory to show Kirito.
"I know...I don't get how a wolf could have something like that in its stomach." Kirito had a palm over his face, struggling to understand the game logic.
"Let get back to town, I heard that someone manage to find the boss room and they're gathering all the competent players to take it on back in town," Kirito told Leonard.
"Where did you get that information from?" Leonard questioned.
"Just from random people on the street," he replied while shrugging like it was no big deal.
"I'm asking to see if you're interested in fighting the boss if they're actually found it," Kirito added.
"Oh hell yeah, boss monster meaning awesome loots right?" Leonard drool starts to run off from the corner of his mouth as he imagines the boss dropping epic level equipment.
"Oh please, the chance of the boss dropping epic quality stuff is close to none existence, it's the boss of the first floor you know." Kirito reminded him.
"Ahh jeez, you don't have to ruin my expectation like that...at least let me dream of it for a little bit longer," Leonard said in a dejected tone of voice before he pulled out a teleportation crystal from the shared inventory between the two of them.
Kirito seeing that Leonard took out a teleportation crystal, he also did the same.
"Teleport- Tolbana!"
"Teleport- Tolbana!"
The both of them shouted out and immediately a blue light encompassing their body and they vanished from the grassland.
Immediately the both of them appeared in the town of Tolbana
Leonard immediately drop down to his knees while having a single hand on covering his mouth.
"I can never get used to that," Leonard told Kirito in a weak voice.
"Oh stop being such a baby, it's just virtual teleportation," Kirito told him.
"Gosh, I didn't know that teleportation sickness actually existed," he added.
It took a couple of statuses curing potions and a long while before Leonard could feel better and can function like any other human being again.
"So glad that I bought a whole pack of them a while back, who knew they can come in some handy at the time like these." Leonard thought.
"So where are we heading now?" Leonard asked Kirito.
"The amphitheater of the town," Kirito responded.
They soon quickly made their way to the amphitheater of Tolbana- where they could see that many players had gathered up in the seating area, while a dude in blue hair below was preparing to give a speech.
The both of them quickly find an empty corner to have a seat, which was far the hell enough away from the other people as the both of them dislike to associated themselves with the rest of the other players.
*clap *clap the man in blue hair clapped from below to get everyone attention.
"Alright people, now that everyone's here, let get this meeting started!" he shouted out.
"So anyway, I want to thank everyone for coming, it's good to see you! My name is Diavel- and in this game" he uses this fist to hit on his bronze breastplate. "I rolled as a knight!" he proclaimed
Immediately after his proclamation, the crowd of players laughed at him while jeering that there is no class system in Sword Art Online.
"Alright shut up now, I want to hear what he's about to say next." Leonard who sat on the back called out in a threatening tone to which immediately get all the players who caused a commotion to shut up.
"Hey! Who do you think you are!" immediately a short man with short spiky brown hair and a square face jumped up shouting at Leonard while pointing his finger.
"Someone who is better than you in almost all aspect?" Leonard grinned as he jeered at the man who name was Kibaou.
"Why you!-" Kibaou was about to pull out his sword but Diavel interrupted him.
"*ahem do you want to hear this out or not?" he asked.
"*tsk...you got lucky, noob." Kibaou then sat back down- not before trying to provoke Leonard.
Diavel just glanced at Leonard group and Kibaou before turning away to focus his attention of everyone else.
"Alright, here's the deal," he said in a serious expression.
"Our party found the boss room at the top of the tower today," he added.
To which all the players were surprised upon hearing the news.
"First- we need to defeat the boss and make it to floor 2, the next step is, we have to tell everyone waiting in the town of beginning, that it is! Possible to beat this game!" he shouted.
"Fact is, it is our duty as the most capable players here, do you agree or not?" he then asked.
"Yeah, sound fair- it is the duty of a shepherd(s) to lead the bunch of lost sheep after all.." Leonard replied to Diavel, to which all the other players soon agreed and began clapping.
"Ok, glad to hear that you're all with me on this one on this, now let figure out how're we going to beat the boss- first off, we'll team up into parties of six." Diavel continued- to which Kirito who sat next to Leonard got a jump scare- he quickly looks around and notices that the other players were grouping up to discussing their strategy and inviting one another into parties.
He looked around only noticing that there were only Leonard and another person in a cloak who was a "leftover" just like them.
"Don't worry about it, us three will do just fine…" Leonard told Kirito after he sees that the guy was quite jumpy after the thought of being the leftover.
The cloaked person who sat on the same row as they are and caught wind of Leonard words and couldn't help but take a look at their group.
"What do you mean by us three?" she asked.
Leonard grinned while pointing at himself. "There's me." then to Kirito "then this poor little sucker here." and finally at the cloaked girl. "Then there's you, the leftover who's sitting there."
