Out in the field, Conner was patrolling alongside the fence with a rifle in hand.
"Uncle Conner!" Leonard called out from the back.
He turned over and saw the kid running toward him.
"What do you need Leonard?" he asked.
"I need to tell you something."
"Tell me, I'm all ears," Conner told him.
"When "Dinner" start, I need you to position yourself next to the kids and Ryan, and ready to kill as well." Leonard gives him an order.
"You don't need to tell me, kid, I'll put a blade in between their eyebrows if they make any move." he grinned.
"Alright he should head back now, Lee and Kenny should already know what really hide behind those closed door now," Leonard said in a low voice.
"Closed door? You mean the one reek of blood inside the barn?" Conner asked him.
"Yes, that the one, you noticed it even without entering the barn?" he look at his uncle.
"Oh please, I could smell that stench for miles...who do you think I am? I'm a 7th stage warrior/assassin for goodness sake." Conner reminded him.
"..." Leonard has totally forgotten about the power of this stalker of an uncle of his held.
Along the way to the St. John Dairy farm.
"By the way, I too have something I want to ask you," Conner asked him in a low voice.
"What is it, uncle Conner?" Leonard said.
"I want to ask you, why don't you let us, me and Mavis, to show our true power- of what we can actually do in front of these people, and why do we have to compromise to their little democracy? why don't we just showed them a bit of our power and take control of everything? What we were doing here is a waste of time, I don't know what kind of humor that God has but we been in this world for far too long...there is literally nothing challenging within this world." Conner asked and tell him in a serious tone.
"What would you have done uncle Conner?" Leonard asked him curiously.
"The first thing I would do is seized the entire camp by force and begin expanding, set our foothold within this world and stabilized our position, then we can focus on getting stronger through killing since we have a foothold to back us up, not scavenging day by day like rats to support a tiny group of civilians," he told Leonard.
"But who would be the leader and how would you keep these people from revolting against you," Leonard asked the man.
"Easy...you can be the leader, while I'll keep them in check through fear...remember, to these people- my and Mavis strength is beyond their comprehension." the man grinned.
"Damn...since when did I have such a psychotic uncle?!" Leonard thought.
"Uncle, it may be selfish of me to do this, however, I wish to keep thing the way it is, unless it is a desperate situation, please do not show your might to them...as for the challenge set by this god, I believe it isn't that simple, since a being such as Tyrant could exist in this world, I have a feeling that there are more terrify being out there- so it would be best if you could keep a low profile along with Mavis, plus there is something I would like to see as this party progressed further on," Leonard told the man and walked ahead of him toward the St. John family home.
When they reached the house, Leonard could see Lee, Kenny, and Andy waiting for them.
"Ah just in time for dinner!" Andy told them.
"Yep, just time," Leonard said with a bright smile on his face.
"So you find anything out while patrolling Conner?" Andy asked him.
"No, nothing other than a few dead ones roaming around outside the fence," Conner told him.
They all went inside the house after they came inside Andy locked the door behind them.
"Excuse the mess. We had to block the back door after a walker got upstair" Andy told them.
"Don't worry, that was a while ago and they ain't been back inside since," he reassured them.
The three of them then headed toward the dining room.
"Everybody sits down and I'll go get the meal! Ooh, this is a delight!" Brenda said cheerfully.
"I could eat a horse," Kenny said.
Conner and Leonard went to find a seat respectively, Conner tries to stay close to the children's as possible since Leonard has asked him to do so, while Mavis and Ryan took a seat next to Leonard.
The only one who wasn't sitting was Lee.
"Where's Mark?" he asked.
"Now don't you worry about him. I've already brought some food up. You just let him rest." Brenda told him.
Lee got suspicious.
"Mind if I wash my hands first?" Lee ask.
"Bathroom's right outside in the hall. And be sure to get under your nails, you've been muckin' around in the dirt all day." Brenda reminded him.
Lee just nodded and went out.
Everyone now was just waiting for Brenda to bring the meal over, which took roughly a few minutes to distribute to everyone, the main course is, of course, meat.
Leonard could swear that he saw Larry drooling as Brenda brought it to his plate, he could help but quickly pick up his utensil and began cutting up the meat.
"Now hold on everyone, you see my family is quite religious and before a meal, we always took a prayer you see." Leonard them. "Mind if you join us?" he bullshitted just to delay everyone meals.
"Aight alright sweety." Brenda agreed.
"You're a religious family? I didn't know that? And why don't I see you pray to every meal?" Larry questioned him.
"Well because so far there's nothing worth to pray for." Leonard retorted.
"Alright everyone held each other hand please, let get it over with quickly so we can have "Dinner" I'm sure you all must be starving," Leonard told them.
Conner mind seen to have deciphered what Leonard is trying to do he quickly grab Danny hand, everyone followed his action.
Leonard started it off.
"Bless us, O Lord, and these, thy gifts, which we are about to receive from thy bounty. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen-"
"Don't eat dinner?!" he gave everyone in the dining hall a jump scare- everyone except for three people.
Since all of them chapters previous are short- I tried extended it by a few hundred words more.
