Summary:
The standard issue weapon of the predecessor of the 'Imperial Army,' the original 'Violet Army,' the old model variant of the Widowmaker Musket (nicknamed the Widowed Granny by modern contemporaries) was employed on a large scale during the original Drussian-Panish Conflict.
Although the weapon was purposely designed to be cheap and easy to mass-produce, it was still a relatively reliable weapon with only a few sparse reports and complaints about weapon malfunction.
However, that is not to say that the weapon was made without any innovations. While it took inspiration from the typical musket designs of the time, it was the first model to be streamlined and mass-produced in large numbers.
On top of this, it was also the first musket design in the world of Threa to be equiped with a 'socket bayonet,' which would later go on to become a staple in musket designs in the future. The bayonet is question allowed the soldier to be able to defend himself in a moments notice while at the same time still having his musket equipped.
While the glory days of the Granny Widow was over, its successor the 'V-17 Widowmaker Musket' is sure to carry the legacy of the original Widowmaker into the future as the standard issue weapon of a new empire.
