Review Detail of Yokoyokai in Lord of Lamentors

Definitely a niche book, whether you like it or not, it's definitely not the usual eastern nor writing style that were usually presented within this platform. From the thematic, storytelling, pace, and expectation subverting, it feels fresh and extraterrestrial at the same time. In first 10 chapters, it used a lot of foreshadowing(chevkov's gun style) it tend calls back to previous statement, a lot of subtle world building that was told slowly and methodically, which thanks god, didn't turn into a giant snowball of info dump. Sypnopsis aside, I'll try to explain the core of the story of the availables chapter in case if anybody is interested. The MC seems to be a well known, and at the same time, purposely active to be low-key in everything, to hide his true strength and knowledge about most of things (Looking at where his name originated from, he is probably lying to the reader as well when he cut short a specific explanation with "who knows" and "even me in the future wouldn't know") And slowly, numerous event happened, that may or may not change him for the better, and as the tag said, forcing him to be serious and be more powerful, a strength and position that's outside of his comfortable zone. Cause even if he hid his real strength, that strength is nowhere near the higher echelon of mercenary in that world who can manipulate distance and many more in the future. If you like the sound of it, this book is for you. Grammar not perfect but didn't change much of the experience. So yeah, reccomended.
