" I always thought the world was rotten and that rotten people should die" - Light Yagami. Why would Light regret killing people he deemed as rotten. How could someone with intelligence and willpower possibly be put into the lowest class meant for people with lower intelligence and people who do not try? Why would Light constantly help everyone who asks him he never did before so why would he start now. I don't know if you realize this but Light always thought of himself as someone who was better than others, it was only when he received the death that he developed a god complex. This story has nothing that resembles Light in anyway it is just a copy and pastes from the original story. Also, this story is a harem and I might be wrong about this but Light doesn't like to have even one girlfriend so why would he have 3 especially with a character from Classroom of The Elite. Honestly, the only character who is reasonable is Ichinose from class B. He most likely wouldn't even put up with that Tsundre ( forgot her name) especially after developing his god complex. Also using death as a way to "better" himself is dumb as he already thinks he is the best hence the god complex. Light wasn't some overly nice person who helped everyone who was in need. Also, not sure but, I think he was pretty bored with the world.

I apologize that the book hasn't met your expectations. His true persona will be explained later on, but it's your choice if you choose to keep on reading, with that being said, it does follow the original story so I do have a restricted space to work with. If you've read the light novel, you should already know why Light is in Class D. Additionally, Light didn't always act like a maniac and he always had a face to keep in public. It's explained why Light is so helpful since it's for one of his goals and he has a reputation to keep. I have kept the harem element to keep the book open for now, but that won't be the main focus. I don't want to force you to, but if you'd like you can read the Wattpad version of this book, to get a better experience. In the most recent chapters, it becomes more clear what Light is doing, and eventually more and more will be expanded upon. Once again, I apologize for not meeting your expectations.
Your story is good it just wasn't Light Yagami at least it didn't feel like it. Although I could be wrong after all I haven't seen Death Note in a while but keep up the good work.
