As someone who experienced bullying in high school, "Echo of Shattered Light" hit painfully close to home. The way the author captures the cruel whispers, the social isolation, and the way rumors can destroy a person's reputation is chillingly accurate. Siyun's journey from silence to finding his voice again is portrayed with nuance and sensitivity. Hana's character serves as a perfect reminder of how one person's kindness can make a world of difference. I only wish the ending had provided more closure, but perhaps that's the point - healing is a journey, not a destination. This book will stay with me for a long time.
