I did get angry when Ace invited Luffy to give up on his dream and join him in Whitebeard's crew to make old man Pirate King. I was furious when Ace died after all the effort Luffy put into saving him. I was so sad when Whitebeard died despite dying for his son, yet the same son spit on their effort by returning to die just because Akainu said some few words.

Bro, he is not mad that he failed to save Ace. He is mad that despite putting that much effort Ace died stupidly. And Luffy was devastated.

Yup, I also knew long before this fanfic. I am Hardcore One Piece fan. I know all about it, but I decided to go with Coby as it rhymes with his title, Coby the Copy Ninja.

Bro. You are either overestimating Coby or underestimating Marine Admirals. Marco was there, Jozu was there. The whole Whitebeard crew was there. Whitebeard himself was there. There is nothing that can stop Ace's stupidity. Coby tried to stop him, but he couldn't. Coby didn't even know Armament Haki yet. He had Sea Stone cuffs, but using them would have only put Ace in more danger. Worse, it would have put Luffy himself at risk. Coby’s priority was Luffy. Ace wanted to fight Akainu, and he died because of it. Nothing Coby could do.
